Description
Wet Structures — Mod Guide
Discover 48 handcrafted structures shaped by water—from cozy creekside cabins to drowned cities, colossal temples, and mythic ruins—each with rich interiors, balanced loot, and biome-aware generation.
What is Wet Structures?
Wet Structures is a Fabric world-generation mod for Minecraft 26.2. It adds 48 explorable builds made entirely from vanilla blocks. Small shelters make ordinary journeys more memorable, regional landmarks reward longer expeditions, and rare mythological ruins become destinations in their own right.
The mod focuses on environmental storytelling, useful but progression-friendly loot, complete interiors, and placement that fits the surrounding terrain. It adds no new blocks, items, mobs, or dimensions.
Requirements
- Minecraft 26.2
- Fabric Loader 0.19.3 or newer
- Fabric API
- Optional: Biomes O' Plenty or Lootr
Install the same mod version on the server and every joining client. For single-player, install it in the client instance that creates or opens the world.
Installation
- Install Fabric Loader for Minecraft 26.2.
- Put Fabric API and the Wet Structures JAR in the instance's
modsfolder. - Launch the game and create a new world.
Wet Structures can be added to an existing world, but structures only appear in newly generated chunks. Back up an established world before changing its mod list. Removing the mod does not erase already-generated blocks, though unexplored Wet Structures will stop generating.
Finding structures
Explore new terrain naturally or use Minecraft's standard locate command when cheats are enabled:
/locate structure wet_structures:waterwheel_mill
/locate structure wet_structures:drowned_king_necropolis
Structure IDs use lowercase names with underscores. The complete ID can also be selected through command suggestions after typing wet_structures:.
Aquatic ruins use a separate, wider placement grid from land structures. Ocean monuments or vanilla structures do not guarantee that a Wet Structures build is nearby. Very large landmarks are intentionally uncommon, and biome or terrain checks can reject a placement candidate.
What you can discover
Wayside discoveries
Compact builds include the Overgrown Wellhouse, Creekside Cottage, Fisher's Stilt House, Bog Herbalist Hut, Mountain Bathhouse, Rain Collector's Cabin, Flooded Root Cellar, and Pilgrim's Waterside Shrine.
Regional landmarks
Look for mills, trading posts, monasteries, watchtowers, reservoirs, temples, quarries, settlements, lodges, strongholds, caravanserais, manors, witchspires, fortresses, palaces, foundries, dams, shipyards, and monumental civic works. Their materials and layouts change with their culture and intended biome.
Mythological destinations
The rarest tier includes the Palace Beneath the Lake, World Serpent Temple, Weeping Colossus, Atlantis Ascendant, Endless Aqueduct, Storm Crown Citadel, Moonwell, Garden of the Rain God, Drowned King's Necropolis, Four Rivers Temple, Last Ark, and Abyssal Gate.
These sites are large, dangerous to approach, and designed for deliberate exploration. Bring food, tools, light, water-breathing supplies, and inventory space. Underwater doors, vertical routes, flooded chambers, and concealed side rooms are common.
Loot and progression
Loot is generated when a container is first opened. Rewards scale with the role and rarity of the structure, but remain within vanilla progression. The mod is intended to reward exploration rather than replace mining, enchanting, trading, or boss progression.
If another mod changes vanilla loot behavior, world generation, biomes, or structure placement, results may differ. Always reproduce issues with the smallest practical mod list before reporting them.
Biomes O' Plenty support
Biomes O' Plenty is optional. When installed, Wet Structures can use matching BOP forests, wetlands, fields, deserts, mountains, snowy regions, and beaches. Its biome tag entries are optional, so the same Wet Structures JAR also works in vanilla-biome worlds.
Server administration
Operators can predict Wet Structures around the Overworld spawn without loading or generating chunks:
/wettestadmin <radius>
The radius is measured in blocks and accepts values from 1 to 50,000. The scan runs on a dedicated thread, reports a predicted count for every structure ID, and does not save or modify terrain. Only one scan can run at a time.
Example:
/wettestadmin 10000
Predictions use the world's seed, the mod's placement grids, weighted selection, and biome checks. They describe where generation should succeed; they do not prove that those chunks have already been visited.
World-generation notes
- Land and aquatic structures use coordinated weighted grids to reduce overlap, clustering, and unusually large empty regions.
- Rotation varies eligible structures without changing their intended rarity group.
- Every template has an explicit foundation or underside and a complete roof or intentional ruined-roof treatment.
- Existing chunks are never retroactively rebuilt.
- Because structures use vanilla blocks, generated builds remain visible if the mod is later removed.
