# Drainage
Stop your base from flooding. Drainage adds drain wells, pipes and outlets: put a well outside, run pipes through the wall, and let the water come out at the other end, into a pond, a cauldron or a fluid tank from another mod.
Made for Flowing Fluids, where water spreads across the ground and floods everything. It also works with plain vanilla water, so Flowing Fluids is optional.
## Parts
**Drain Well**: place it outside, in the ground. The grate on top soaks up nearby water within 5 blocks, up to 8 water levels at a time, and it holds 2 blocks of water.
**Drain Pipe**: connects by itself to neighbouring pipes, wells, outlets and fluid tanks from other mods. It goes through walls and in every direction, including upwards.
**Drain Outlet**: the open end of the pipe. Water comes in from behind and flows out the front into a pond, a cauldron or a tank. This is where you connect your big storage.
Water only flows one way, from well to pipe to outlet, so it never runs back. If the outlet is blocked or the container is full, the pipes fill up and the well stops pumping until there is room again. Outlets never pour into chests or other blocks that have an inventory.
Right-click any part with an empty hand to see how much water it holds.
## Recipes
- **Pipe (8)**: 6 copper ingots, three on the top row and three on the bottom row, with an empty row between.
- **Outlet**: 1 pipe and 1 iron nugget, shapeless.
- **Well**: 3 iron bars on top, with cobblestone, pipe and cobblestone below.
## With and without Flowing Fluids
- **With Flowing Fluids**: the mod fills and drains water level by level, and the water it releases spreads on its own. A well moves roughly 5 blocks of water per second.
- **Without Flowing Fluids**: the well takes up whole water blocks, and the outlet turns the block in front of it into a water source. Vanilla water can't be split into levels, so the water isn't conserved exactly.
The mod picks the right mode on its own when the game starts.
## Multiplayer
Everyone on the server needs the mod.
## Requirements
- Minecraft 1.21.1
- NeoForge 21.1 or later
