Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
WebDisplays Improved - Version 2.0 (Full Changelog)
This major update marks a deep overhaul of the mod's performance, ergonomics, audio, and visual features.
Performance & Optimization
-
Extreme Fluidity (OpenGL): The graphics engine no longer forces the graphics card to perform unnecessary calculations 144 times per second.
-
Minecraft FPS no longer drops when looking at a giant screen.
-
CEF Hardware Acceleration: The integrated Chromium web browser now fully utilizes your graphics card (--enable-gpu).
-
HTML rendering, HD videos, and animations are now perfectly fluid without overloading the CPU.
Audio & Sound
-
Native Integration with Minecraft Mixer: The sound of each screen (TV) now takes into account the Master Volume slider and the Block Volume slider directly in the Minecraft options.
-
Pause Menu Management: Pausing the game (Esc key) immediately mutes or pauses screen audio.
-
Ghost Sound Correction: When a screen is broken/destroyed, its background browser process is immediately purged from RAM to avoid persistent sounds.
-
Anti-Micro-Stutter: Volume packets are only sent to the browser when you move far enough to change the sound level, eliminating lag caused by network "spamming".
Ergonomics & Usability
-
Pinpoint Selection and Hitbox: No more need to stand right next to solid blocks!
-
Screen construction attaches to the exact fractional hitbox (perfect for Decocraft TVs or half-slabs).
-
Smart Holographic Display: The preview hologram (red frame) now displays dynamically between your first click and where you are aiming, indicating the exact actual size down to the sub-block.
-
Extended Size Limit: You can now create massive screens up to 500 m² (instead of 100 m²).
-
Secure Destruction Button: Added a screen deletion button in the interface, featuring a bright red confirmation prompt to prevent accidental deletions.
-
The "Apply" button has been moved to the bottom of the window for better convenience.
-
Wand Security & Ghost Blocks: The screen placement wand will no longer accidentally break Minecraft blocks.
-
The network cancellation system has been rebuilt from scratch to prevent "ghost blocks" (invisible but physically present).
-
Smart Reloading: Changing a screen's volume or aspect ratio no longer forces a hard reload of the webpage if the URL remains the same, allowing you to adjust sound during a video without cutting it.
Image Engine & Native GIFs
-
Chromium GIF Engine: The "Image/GIF" mode now delegates the heavy task of decoding animated GIFs directly to Chromium via a transparent "HTML Wrapper" generated on the fly.
-
This eliminates choppy Java decoding; Chromium handles the GIF fluidly and with hardware optimization, all while maintaining the lightness of the Image mode.
