Description

Weathering Chamber

Sand is one of the few resources you can run out of. Weathering Chamber fixes that by adding a single machine that mimics real-world erosion — grinding rock down, one step at a time:

cobblestone → gravel → sand

Since cobblestone is infinitely renewable (a lava + water generator), everything downstream of it becomes renewable too. No more strip-mining riverbeds for concrete, glass, or TNT.

How it works

  • Powered by water, not fuel. Place the Weathering Chamber next to any water block (source, flowing, or waterlogged) on any of its six sides — that's its "fuel."
  • Drop in cobblestone (or gravel) and it grinds one step every ~10 seconds: cobblestone → gravel, gravel → sand.
  • Fully automatable. Hoppers insert into the input and pull finished material from the output. The input only accepts grindable items, so it never jams on junk.
  • Break it and keep your stuff — it drops its contents, not just the block.

Crafting

Built around a grindstone core (the grinding mechanism), clad in copper (the metal that literally weathers) with pointed dripstone (formed by water eroding stone) top and bottom:
