WDAB Better Grindstone

WDAB Better Grindstone is a vanilla-plus enhancement to the grindstone that makes it fully compatible with redstone, hoppers, and automation builds, while preserving expected vanilla behavior and avoiding exploits.

If you’ve ever wanted to integrate a grindstone into a redstone contraption or automated item pipeline — this mod makes that possible.

✨ Features

🔴 Redstone Support

• Emits a comparator signal based on its current state
• Can be triggered by a redstone pulse to perform exactly one grind
• Designed for precise, edge-triggered automation

📦 Hopper Compatibility

• Persistent inventory when not viewing GUI
• Accepts valid inputs via hoppers
• Outputs items via hoppers only when a grind is finalized
• Prevents duplication from preview outputs

⚙️ Automation-Friendly Logic

• Comparator output reflects whether the grindstone is “ready”
• Supports single enchanted items or paired inputs

🧱 Vanilla-Consistent Behavior

• Same mining speed and tool requirements as the vanilla grindstone
• Familiar UI with enhanced backend logic

🧠 Comparator Behavior

The comparator output is designed to be intuitive and useful in redstone builds:

• 0 — No inputs present (not triggerable)
• 8 — Inputs present but not ready to grind
• 15 — Valid output present and ready to be triggered

After a grind is triggered and inputs are consumed, the comparator signal turns off until new inputs are supplied.
