WaylandCraft++ — a Wayland compositor inside Minecraft
Open and use real desktop apps as windows and item frames inside Minecraft. Built on a Fabric client mod + a Rust native layer that acts as a Wayland compositor (Linux) or desktop window capture (Windows).
Features
- Open any installed app from an in-game launcher (
V), interact with it like a normal window - Keyboard capture (
G) and a hard-capture mode (ALT+Q) for typing/relative mouse in-game - Window manager screen (
B) to manage, grab, and arrange open windows - X11 app support via
xwayland-satellite - Iris/shader compatible (since v2.0.2)
- Window sharing: broadcast a window's video + audio to other players on the server, read-only, via item frames or placed in the world
- Windows 10 1903+/11 support: captures real desktop windows (WGC/PrintWindow) and forwards input, no compositor needed
Requirements
- Minecraft 26.2, Fabric loader
- Linux: xkbcommon 1.11.0 + tools, xwayland-satellite (optional, for X11 apps), PipeWire (for sharing audio)
- Windows: 10 1903+ or 11, x86_64
