Way of the Immortal 1.1.0 Changelog
Version 1.1.0 is a backward-compatible feature update for Minecraft 26.2 and NeoForge. This changelog covers changes introduced after the 1.0.0 release.
## Added
### Cultivation and combat
- Added persistent mastery for every martial and Immortal Technique with Entry, Small Success, Great Success, and Perfection stages. Comprehension improves legitimate training progress, while rarer and stronger techniques require more practice.
- Added Far-Reaching Spiritual Sense, a comprehension-based insight that expands aura-sensing range as it is mastered.
- Added the Hundredfold Harvest Art, an early-game hold-to-use technique for bounded tree and ore harvesting. It preserves normal drops, enchantments, tool durability, and server protection checks.
- Reaching Foundation Establishment now grants server-authoritative creative-style flight without Creative Mode invulnerability, inventory access, or building privileges.
- Added three legendary combat relics: the Swallowing Heaven Gourd, Mountain-and-River Imperial Seal, and Samsara Nirvana Lotus. They use canonical ownership, soul-bound recovery, persistent cooldowns, and server-authoritative combat safeguards. These relics remain Creative or operator distributed in 1.1.0.
### Formations, artifacts, and professions
- Added a Formation Journal to the Cultivation Codex. It separates mastery-locked, study-ready, and completed formations, and reveals a full diagram only after the player successfully constructs it.
- Added the Grand Spirit Gathering Formation, powered by permanent placed spirit-crystal pylons. Crystal grade controls its radius, while cultivation gain rises from 2x near the boundary to 10x at the center.
- Added the Sect Boundary Ward, imprintable and revocable passage seals, and the Counterflow Unraveling Needle system for mastery-based formation breaching.
- Added the coreless Void Passage Array at 500 Array Mastery. Creators can register, name, and link their own formation eyes, select a destination, pay the required Spirit Stones, and transport consenting nearby travelers through a three-second channel.
- Added automatic cleanup for stray, unclaimed Formation Traces after approximately three loaded minutes. Traces belonging to completed formations and registered Void Passages remain protected.
- Added Spirit Forge artifact refinement with persistent mastery, tiered recipes, success chances, workmanship grades, failure residue, and the Artificer's Primer.
- Added refinable Flying Swords that provide qi-powered flight before Foundation Establishment, along with flight mastery, safe landing behavior, and a sword-riding pose.
- Added the first playable foundations for Puppetry and Vein Master progression. These are starting profession paths rather than complete endgame systems.
### World, encounters, and server longevity
- Added rare natural Ginseng, Iron Bark Root, and Cloud Lotus patches on Spiritual Soil in eligible newly generated chunks.
- Added bounded Overworld night encounters for weak spirit beasts and rogue cultivators. The server rolls one encounter most nights and two on some nights for each category across the whole server, not per player.
- Added persistent rogue-cultivator strength variants. Health and attack damage range from 1x to 2x baseline with ordinary rolls favored, while armor scaling is capped at 1.5x.
- Added two-Minecraft-day reclaim cycles for supported Bandit Camps, Bandit Fortresses, Martial Villages, Dojos, Grandmaster Pavilions, and Ancient Temples. Eligible residents and loot return only when the authored site and its required container anchors remain intact.
- Added five-Minecraft-day renewal cycles for supported Spirit Mines and Lodes. Only exact template-authored crystal positions can return, only into harmless air, and guardian-only sites renew guardians rather than inventing ore nodes.
- Added rotating merchant seed stock and bounded purchase orders for selected crops, herbs, Spirit Stones, and forged alloys.
- Added three client-selectable HUD profiles: Original Top Left, Classic Bottom, and Meridian Right. The choice saves locally through the Cultivation Codex.
## Changed and improved
### Interface and presentation
- Rebuilt major custom dialogue and Codex screens around Minecraft's logical GUI size. Content now reflows, scrolls, or paginates across Auto GUI Scale, compact windows, ultrawide displays, and content-heavy pages without fractionally scaling or blurring the font.
- Improved the existing custom main menu so its title, buttons, utilities, build label, and Mojang credits remain correctly positioned while the window is resized.
- Minecraft's F1 toggle now hides every Way of the Immortal world-HUD element, including player resources, aura-sensed target bars, and lock-on indicators.
- Standardized player-facing uses of "Chi" to "Qi" while retaining compatibility-safe legacy save fields, registry paths, commands, and serialized identities.
- Spirit Stone ore now appears as six grades of face-attached, amethyst-style living crystal buds rather than embedded ore cubes. Spirit Stone Mine layouts expose them naturally across floors, walls, and ceilings.
### Combat, progression, and balance
- Martial and Immortal Technique damage now scales with Body, Qi, mastery, art grade, and cultivation requirements so advanced and legendary arts remain stronger than basic attacks at high progression.
- Heavenly Palm Manifestation now travels up to 14 blocks, damages and knocks back targets in its core path, slows targets caught in the surrounding pressure corridor, and stops at solid terrain.
- Random Air Step comprehension is 30 percent rarer while retaining its Comprehension scaling and one-roll-per-jump behavior.
- Spirit Forge alloy operations now produce three Spiritsteel, three Astral Alloy, or two Empyrean Alloy per valid material pair.
- Guards now remain near a persistent village post, abandon distant pursuits, return to protect the settlement, and treat the village more reliably as a defended safe zone.
- Improved Temple, Pavilion, Dojo, and Fortress discovery in newly generated chunks while keeping Temples comparatively restrained.
- Rebalanced structure loot, herb-seed acquisition, Immortal Temple rewards, and fortress scripture routes without restoring excessive high-grade Spirit Stone drops.
- Expanded Demonic Path initiation hints through civilians, scholars, scripture tooltips, and the Cultivation Codex. The Demonic Path itself was already present in 1.0.0.
### Existing formation improvements
- Expanded Void Passage construction, linking, destination, cost, readiness, and traveler-consent guidance.
- Improved Verdant Breath with a predictable rotating, loaded-chunk-only herb scan and an array status report for eligible immature herbs.
- Existing compact Spirit Gathering, Eight-Gate Warding, Verdant Breath, and Five-Sword Killing formations now integrate with the Formation Journal and improved guidance. These four formations were already available in 1.0.0.
## Fixed
- Corrected all 18 mod ore loot tables. Ordinary mining now gives the intended raw material, Spirit Stone, essence, or shard; Silk Touch gives the ore block, and Fortune applies normally.
- Restored Qi Fireball's visible impact burst while keeping its splash damage terrain-safe and preventing it from priming TNT indirectly.
- Reworked Qi Fireball and Shadow Bolt as server-owned projectiles that preserve cast-time mastery and repeat duel, ally, family, and village-safety checks on impact.
- Prevented guards from retaliating against or damaging one another through melee, projectiles, or martial area attacks.
- Fixed merchant trades closing unexpectedly, accepting stale clicks, or remaining locked when the merchant unloaded or moved away.
- Fixed sleeping civilians retaining walking movement and sliding away from their beds.
- Fixed Formation Brush interaction with a formation core being intercepted before diagram validation.
- Corrected the Formation Brush and Flying Sword hand transforms so the player holds each item by its handle.
- Corrected active Flying Sword orientation so the blade appears beneath the rider with its tip facing forward and the rider's legs remain still.
- Corrected technique models appearing inverted, rendering too close to the first-person camera, or blocking the player's view.
- Recolored adamantine ore to match its violet raw material, ingot, and storage-block identity, and centered raw adamantine in inventory slots.
- Replaced the mismatched Young and Mature Iron Bark Root placeholders with a consistent 32x32 harvested-root progression.
- Centered the Young, Mature, and Aged Ginseng inventory icons and removed the detached Young Ginseng edge pixel.
- Replaced the mismatched Young and Mature Cloud Lotus placeholders with detailed, centered 32x32 blossoms that retain the approved Aged Cloud Lotus palette and hard-edged style. The Aged stage is also centered without resampling or recoloring it.
- Fixed Formation Journal cards shortening requirements with ellipses. Formation names, status, mastery, footprint, core, and fuel details now wrap at native font size in a responsive one- or two-column grid with pixel scrolling.
- Disabled player and dispenser bone meal acceleration for every Way of the Immortal crop.
- Fixed HUD text blur, GUI-scale overflow, title placement, scoreboard overlap, and conflicts with vanilla action messages and held-item text.
## Compatibility and upgrading from 1.0.0
- A new world is not required. Existing 1.0.0 worlds are intended to upgrade in place after a complete backup.
- Previously generated chunks remain unchanged. Natural herbs, revised crystal mines, updated structure distribution, and other generation changes require unexplored chunks.
- The internal mod ID remains `martialarts`, and established registry and resource identities were retained. Version 1.1.0 also adds new content and persistent data, so downgrading an upgraded world to 1.0.0 is not supported. Restore the matching backup and old JAR together if rollback is necessary.
- The server and every client must use `way-of-the-immortal-neoforge-26.2-1.1.0.jar`. Network protocol is `15`.
- TerraBlender remains a separate required dependency on the server and every client. It is not bundled inside Way of the Immortal.
