War 'n Nobility - Changelog 1.0.8 (Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge) The mapping update. Antique Atlas 8 support, a real terrain map, private map notes, and a working war table. -- IMPORTANT: Antique Atlas 8 -------------------------------------------- The atlas integration now targets ANTIQUE ATLAS 8, not Antique Atlas 4. This is a hard switch, not a tweak: the two are different mods with different item ids. If you use the map features, you must be on Antique Atlas 8. Antique Atlas is optional and client-side; without it the nobility ladder, seals, vassalage and the domain system all run exactly as before. -- The map --------------------------------------------------------------- - Real terrain. The atlas now paints actual per-block terrain, every surveyed column in its own block colour, shaded like a vanilla map and graded onto the parchment. It replaces Antique Atlas's one-icon-per-biome tiles rather than layering over them, so tree and hill icons no longer ghost through your ground. It reads the map data the atlas already keeps and respects its fog of war, so unexplored land stays blank parchment. - Terrain is baked in 128-block regions with a per-frame build budget and distance-based eviction, so panning stays smooth on a well-travelled world. - The HELD atlas finally shows everything. Antique Atlas 8 draws the in-hand book through a separate render path, so the held book previously showed no borders, no colony or domain markers and no notes. It now draws the same map the opened book does. - Bigger book: the Antique Atlas 8 book is enlarged to fill the window, the way Antique Atlas 4 used to size its own. Toggle with atlas_big_book. - Your "you are here" marker is drawn back on top of the terrain. - Your chosen legend layers are remembered between sessions instead of resetting to defaults every login. - The Terrain legend row is gone: terrain is now the map itself, not an overlay, so a toggle only ever produced a blank page. -- Map notes (new) ------------------------------------------------------- A private, per-player annotation system for your atlas. Marks are yours alone. - Turn on Edit Mode with the button below the map legend. There is no keybind. While Edit Mode is off the atlas pans and zooms exactly as before. - Seven tools: pen, line, arrow, box, circle, text and eraser, with eight ink colours and six brush sizes. - Text notes are typed straight onto the page (Enter to place, Esc to discard). - The eraser shows its reach as a ring before you click, and erases by distance to the whole stroke, so clicking the middle of a long line works. - Ctrl+Z undoes, and Clear All is undoable too, so a misclick is not fatal. - Marks are stored in world coordinates per player, per dimension, and survive restarts and mod updates. Limit of 2000 marks per player per dimension. - Notes draw on both the opened book and the held book. -- War table ------------------------------------------------------------- - FIXED: mounting an atlas on the war table was completely broken against Antique Atlas 8. It looked for the wrong item, so every real atlas was rejected with "Mount an atlas on the war table to use it" and no board could ever activate. Both the filled and empty Antique Atlas 8 books are now accepted. - FIXED: the war board rendered black. It now draws the same terrain map the book does. Zoom behaviour is unchanged, so existing boards keep their view. - Panning the board is smooth: the map is placed against your live view instead of a view up to a server round trip stale, so it no longer snaps into place behind your units. - The selection ring no longer drifts off its unit banner while you pan. - Ctrl+Z undoes your last mark at the war table, matching the atlas. It only ever takes back your own mark, never an ally's, and stands down while you are typing a label. - The F4 commander minimap draws the terrain map as well. -- New config options ---------------------------------------------------- [atlas] atlas_big_book (default true) Enlarge the Antique Atlas 8 book. atlas_terrain_enabled (default true) Draw real per-block terrain. atlas_terrain_saturation (default 45) 0 = sepia plate, 100 = plain vanilla map colours. atlas_terrain_alpha (default 255) Leave this at 255. At 255 the terrain map stands alone. Lower it only if you specifically want Antique Atlas's own biome art drawn back underneath, which blends two different maps and brings the ghosting back. -- Compatibility --------------------------------------------------------- Requires MineColonies and War 'n Taxes (built against War 'n Taxes 5.0.2). Optional: Antique Atlas 8 (client-side, for all map features), Easy Factions (King gate and faction overlay), Hundred Years War. Every optional integration is fail-soft: when the mod is absent that feature stays dormant and the rest of the nobility ladder runs standalone. License GPL-3.0.
