Mod Details/How To Play

A guide for how to play the mod can now be found in the Book of Love item, by pressing the "Info" button on the home page. You can summon untamed waifus with the Book of Love. It is crafted by surrounding a book with four poppies. Opening the Book of Love will allow you to browse potential waifus that are currently available in the mod (more will be added in the future)

After you have spawned a potential waifu, you can open the Interaction Menu by Right-Clicking on her. Then, you can gift her an item that she likes in order to raise her Infatuation Meter. Raising the Infatuation Meter will unlock new interactions with the waifu, including the ability to finally tame her! To tame an untamed waifu, Right-Click on them with a Waifu Ring once the Infatuation Meter is completely full. This will unlock new interactions in the Interaction Menu. You can now change her outfit and even transform her into a Waifu Totem, which will allow you to store her or carry her around in your inventory as an item. If your tamed waifu dies, her totem will be added to your inventory so that she can be respawned.

You can Right-Click while sneaking on a tamed waifu to tell her to follow you, to stay put, or to wander around freely. Tamed waifus will fight for you, unless they have been told to stay put or you have disabled their ability to fight in the Book of Love. Waifus will slowly regenerate health after being hurt, but can be manually healed by giving them head pats in the Interaction Menu. Some waifus have 'quirks', which amounts to special behavior unique to them. For instance, Hinata will sometimes use her Byakugan each time she kills a mob, allowing you to see nearby mobs through walls. You can read more about quirks below!

There are also Mob-Waifus, which are less sophisticated waifus who lack an interaction menu but are much easier to tame. You can spawn a Mob-Waifu by using the Waifu Potion on certain mobs. They can then be tamed with their favorite item, and can be manually healed by giving them the same item that was used to tame them.

Waifu Quirks (Unique Behaviors)

(Note: Some of these behaviors are only relevant to tamed waifus)

  • Hinata - Sometimes uses her Byakugan after killing a mob; this gives the glowing effect to other nearby mobs.
  • Taiga - Stacks the strength effect each time she kills a mob.
  • Megumin - Finishes off mobs by blowing them up!
  • Tohru - Gives you her roasted tail meat periodically. (Note: The countdown timer for this is reset when you pick her up)
  • Aqua - Grants bad luck or good luck depending on if she's tamed. Will heal you when right-clicked while your health isn't full. Will trade you for her blessing, and dying with the blessing will cause you to be resurrected. She will use reflect in combat to protect herself, and turn undead to kill undead mobs. Will use exorcism on certain mobs such as illagers and various nether mobs.
  • Monika - 'Responds poorly' to either being reset or being gifted an item she dislikes. Can corrupt Natsuki and Yuri if gifted their totems.
  • Nami - Avoids spiders.
  • Sayori - Follows players who are holding cookies, and will eat them when gifted.
  • Kaguya - Shoots arrows.
  • Mystia - Shoots projectiles, occasionally sings in combat.
  • Miku - Sometimes sings in combat when harmed, stunning enemies.
  • Velvet - Refuses head pats, restores health upon taking down a mob, and sneezes when cats or ocelots are nearby. (Great for hunting ocelots to tame!)
  • Yuri - Gift her totem to Monika to alter her code - turning her into Yandere Yuri.
  • Natsuki - Periodically gives the player her special cupcakes, the recipe for them is unlocked upon making her your waifu. (Note: The countdown timer for this is reset when you pick her up) Gift her totem to Monika to corrupt her.
  • Padoru - Sings and dances when interacted with, and will occasionally give you a gift. Also throws exploding presents! Currently only obtained in the creative menu
  • Darkness - Durable but doesn't deal damage. Attempting to name her Lalatina prompts a unique response.
  • Suu - Changes size/skins from likes and dislikes respectively, is damaged by water/nether but will regress to smaller forms on each death.
  • Zelda - Shoots arrows that give the glowing effect to targets.
  • GLaDOS - Poisons targets, has dialogue in item form, and avoids birds. Gives the player a companion cube upon making her your waifu.
  • Bowsette - Burns defeated targets.
  • Power - Regenerates health from kills, and gains stacking strength effect. Sucks the player's blood during head pat.
  • Makima - Responds to players who bark in the chat... Yes, really.
  • Toga - Duplicates herself when using the 'Twice' quirk with her second outfit. Levitates enemies with her third outfit.
  • Ochaco - Levitates enemies during combat. Levitates the player if asked (trade menu)
