Description

Gacha Waifus

Gacha Waifus turns Minecraft 1.21.1 into a character-collector action game. You pull for anime-style heroines from a gacha, summon them into the world as loyal companions, and fight alongside them using full three-skill combat kits inspired by Zenless Zone Zero — while a color-based damage wheel decides who wins every fight.

This is not a cosmetic mod and not a simple "pet" mod: every waifu is a real, animated, fighting entity with her own stats, her own three abilities, her own ultimate finisher, and her own place in a rock-paper-scissors damage system that also applies to you.

What you can actually do with it

1. Pull for waifus at a Gacha Terminal

Craft the Gacha Terminal (amethyst dome over a stone base) and right-click it to spend a Pink Ball.

  • 1 Pink Ball = 1 pull. Hold Shift and right-click for a x10 pull.
  • Base 5★ rate is 1.6%, with soft pity (+6% per pull) starting at pull 51 and a hard pity guarantee at pull 64.
  • The classic 50/50: win the coin flip and you get the day's featured waifu; lose it and you get another waifu you don't own yet — and your next 5★ is guaranteed to be the featured one.
  • No duplicate spam: if you already own the featured waifu (token in your inventory or one of your waifus alive within 128 blocks), the terminal tells you so instead of wasting your pull. The featured waifu rotates every Minecraft day, so the banner always has something new.
  • Every pull gives something. Food prizes (cookies, bread, cooked beef, all the way up to an Enchanted Golden Apple at the rarest tier) keep your inventory stocked while you chase 5★s.

How you get Pink Balls: craft one in a cross shape (diamond in the centre; copper, lapis lazuli, iron and coal around it) — or simply log in once per real-life day for one free ball, or run the /tirada command if you never disconnect.

2. Summon her and fight together

Use a waifu's token (or summon her straight from your collection) and she appears next to you as a tamed ally.

  • She follows you, defends you, jumps into water, sits when you tell her to, and never needs feeding.
  • She picks her own fights with hostile mobs and switches between her three skills on her own cooldowns, so you always see her full kit in action — not just a basic swing.
  • No friendly fire: waifus never attack each other, and they never hit you or other players. You can't hurt them either. You can bring a full team of them into a fight without them killing each other.
  • Only one of each waifu can be active per player at a time, so summoning feels like a real choice instead of a mob spam.

3. Three skills per waifu, with real numbers

Each waifu has a Normal attack, a Special and an Ultimate, each with its own cooldown, range, particles and effects:

Skill Cooldown Reach What it does
Normal attack ~1 second 2–30 blocks Her signature poke — sword slash, rifle of ether, briefcase gun, igniting cut…
Special ~10–15 seconds 2.5–20 blocks Her EX move: dashes with brief invulnerability, area bursts, gravity vortexes, stun hits, cone flamethrowers.
Ultimate ~30–45 seconds up to 16 blocks A cinematic finisher: screen title, fanfare sounds, expanding shockwaves, huge area damage, plus healing and buffs for you.

Ultimates are the highlight: for example, Hoshimi Miyabi telegraphs a rotating frost circle on the ground, then unleashes Cherry Blossom Frost — a 360° slash with damage falloff from the centre, lingering frost ticks, Slowness IV on everything caught, and Regeneration + Absorption + Speed for you. Burnice White leaps into the air with a fuel pack on her back and rains fire downward while her flamethrower torches a 35° cone. Nicole Demara opens a gravity black hole that drags enemies into the centre and shreds them with repeated magic ticks.

4. The color wheel: a strategic layer on top of vanilla combat

Every waifu is classified by one of 11 colors, taken from her palette (Miyabi = Blue, Burnice = Orange, Astra = Yellow, Anby = Purple, Kurumi = Red…).

  • Each color deals +33% damage against 3 colors and −33% against 3 colors; the remaining four (and itself) are neutral. The wheel is perfectly regular — no color is stronger than another (verified by a script).
  • Every hostile mob spawns with a random color, derived from its UUID — random per spawn, stable across saves, no NBT cost. You can see it as a floating color label above the mob and as a matching particle aura.
  • Your own color is your closest active waifu's color (within 32 blocks) — and enemy colors modify the damage you and your waifus take, too.
  • You get action-bar feedback on every super-effective or weak hit ("Super effective! Blue → Yellow ×1.33"), and two commands: /gwcolor (inspect the color of whatever you're looking at, or your own) and /gwcolor list (all 11 colors with their strong and weak matchups, color-coded).

The result: you start choosing which waifu to send against which mobs, exactly like an elemental team game — but built out of the vanilla mobs you already fight.

5. Your collection is permanent, and death is not the end

The Waifu Capsule is your roster storage:

  • Shift + right-click your waifu to store her (she's safely despawned and recorded).
  • Right-click in the air to open the collection screen, which shows your living waifus on top and your fallen ones below.
  • Click a living entry to summon her. Click a fallen entry to revive her with 4 diamonds — she returns with 50% health, FLASH + HEART particles and the Totem sound.
  • The collection is stored per player in the world's saved data, not inside the item: even if you lose or destroy the capsule, crafting a new one brings your entire collection back.

When a waifu falls in battle you get a message, soul-fire particles and a clear instruction on how to bring her back — no dropped-item roulette, no ambiguous recipes.

6. Animated 3D models, not renamed villagers

Six waifus are fully modelled with GeckoLib keyframe animations: Ellen Joe (shark tail that undulates), Hoshimi Miyabi (kitsune ears + katana that is drawn from its sheath), Nicole Demara (twin-tails and her 3D briefcase cannon), Anby Demara (three-segment cape and boot blade), Burnice White (fuel backpack, arm torches and twintails) and Ye Shunguang (back tail, side locks and nape locks). Every one of them has idle, walk, attack, special and cinematic ultimate animations (charge → impact → recovery), and moving pieces (hair, tails, capes, ears) are animated independently of the body, so they sway and lag naturally instead of being welded to the torso. The remaining waifus use slim player-style models with their own skins, nametags and full kits, and are on the same documented upgrade path.

7. Made to be played with other mods

  • Fully server-side friendly: the color system is derived from UUIDs, so nothing needs client synchronization and nothing breaks on a dedicated server.
  • No custom items needed to fight: waifus fight with vanilla-compatible damage sources, mob effects and particles, so they interact correctly with vanilla armor, enchantments and other mods' mobs.
  • Bilingual out of the box: complete English and Spanish translations (items, entities, tooltips, colors and every message).
  • Creative tab included: "Gacha Waifus" tab with every token, the terminal, both balls and the capsule — so you can test everything in creative in seconds.

Requirements & installation

  1. Install NeoForge 21.1.x for Minecraft 1.21.1.
  2. Drop gachawaifus-x.x.x.jar into your mods folder (client, or server + clients).
  3. Launch, open the Gacha Waifus creative tab or craft the Gacha Terminal in survival, and pull your first waifu.

Built for Minecraft 1.21.1 / NeoForge 21.1.233. No other mods required.

Quick-start checklist

  • Craft the Gacha Terminal: 8 amethyst shards in a dome over 3 stone.
  • Get a Pink Ball: diamond centre + copper, lapis, iron, coal in a cross — or just log in tomorrow.
  • Pull, then right-click the ground with your waifu's token to summon her.
  • Craft a Waifu Capsule (stone over a stick) to store, manage and revive your whole team.
  • Type /gwcolor list once to learn the color wheel, then start picking the right waifu for each fight.

Feedback and bug reports are very welcome — this mod is actively developed, and every version is documented in the changelog.
