Your companion comes back to you, even after a rough patch 🧭

If your companion died a few times in quick succession, it quietly stopped reappearing next to you and turned up at the world spawn instead — sometimes hundreds of blocks away, with no way back on its own.

That was a safety rule for a problem that no longer exists. It is gone. Your companion now returns to your side after every death, no matter how the last few minutes went.

No more bread to the face 🍞

New companions used to arrive with eight loaves of bread, and the first thing they did was offer you one. Every single time. It was meant as a friendly gesture and turned into a running gag.

The starter kit is now leather armour and a full set of stone tools. Nothing else. Your companion greets you with words again, and if it gets hungry it will sort that out the way anyone does out there.

Works on Minecraft 1.21.1, 1.21.4, 1.21.5, 1.21.6 and 1.21.8.
