VOW FORGE 1.4.0 - CHANGELOG
Requires JujutsuCraft 50.1 (Forge 1.20.1). Works alongside Jujutsu Slop 1.0.5.
IMPORTANT: update the server and every player to 1.4.0 together. Mismatched versions are now refused at login.
=== BINDING VOWS: NEW SCREENS ===
The Binding Vows tab has been redrawn in Jujutsu Slop's style.
- Talisman: your vows now sit in sockets around a talisman, one socket per vow slot. The next locked socket shows the grade that opens it, and your limit breaks sit at the top of the ring.
- Click a sworn vow to see its parts, then Enhance or Dissolve it (Dissolve asks first).
- Click an empty socket to swear a vow. A pop-up lists your premade, custom, technique and limit-break vows with a search box, shows why a vow can't be sworn, and lets you edit, copy or delete custom vows.
- The Scales: the custom vow forge. Benefits go on the left, restrictions and conditions on the right, and the beam shows cost against what your restrictions give. Pick effects from a catalog sorted into categories. Save Only keeps the vow for later; Forge & Swear saves it and swears it into the socket you came from.
- The Vow Log and Field guide are still in the bottom bar (they keep their old look for now).
- Sharp, smooth text: the new screens use a clean UI font (Inter) instead of the pixel font, picked at the right resolution for your GUI scale, and the rings and outlines are drawn smooth.
- Animated like Jujutsu Slop's own tabs: titles type in, panels slide and fade in one after another, and pop-ups grow in. Your technique's sigil, the vow sockets, limit breaks and pact links are turning 3D seals. Power flows along the spokes of sworn vows, a newly sworn socket blooms, the Scales' beam swings to its new balance, and the pact sigils come together joined by a living cord.
=== PACTS: THE PACT SEAL ===
- New Pacts page: you and your partner as two sigils joined by a cord, with both sides' terms, time left, Break the Pact (asks first), and your offers (Accept / Decline / Withdraw).
- Propose a Pact opens a pop-up with the pacts sorted into category tabs, a partner selector, both sides' terms and the reason a pact can't be proposed.
- Covenant menu (O): the PACTS button keeps its size but now matches the menu's paper buttons, with a badge when an offer is waiting. Its panel is redrawn in crimson, and it can propose pacts and jump to the Pact Seal in Binding Vows.
=== MELEE AND TECHNIQUE DAMAGE ===
- Melee effects now count only basic attacks: vanilla hits plus JujutsuCraft's weak, strong and combo basic attacks. Before, JJC's basic attacks didn't count as melee at all.
- This covers Heavy Fists, Frail Strikes, Vampiric Strikes, Cursed Siphon, Black Flash Affinity and Combo Chain.
- Everything else you hit with is technique damage.
- Backlash now hurts you for a share of the technique damage you deal (it was melee damage, which JJC basic attacks never triggered). It still never kills you.
=== BREAKING A VOW OR PACT ===
- The forge lock after a break or dissolve is now a flat 1 min at every tier (was 1 to 12 min). The server's lockout multiplier and break harshness can still lengthen it.
- Break penalties now only hit HP, CE and movement speed. Weakness is gone.
- They still scale with the vow's strength, but no timed debuff lasts longer than 2 min (harshness included):
- Tier 1 (Frayed): -10% HP, Slowness I 10 s
- Tier 2 (Snapped): -20% HP, Slowness I 15 s, CE locked 10 s
- Tier 3 (Severed): -30% HP, Slowness I 30 s, CE locked 30 s
- Tier 4 (Shattered): -40% HP, Slowness II 45 s, CE locked 60 s, Hollowed Reserve 2 min (was 3)
- Tier 5 (Oathbreaker's Curse): -50% HP, Slowness II 60 s, CE locked 2 min, Sealed Technique 2 min (was 5)
- The HP loss is still instant and never lethal. Fleeting Vow's no-penalty fade keeps its 2 min lock.
=== VOW ENHANCEMENT ===
- No more level cap: the level 10 limit (x2.59) is gone. Each level still multiplies the enhanced vow by x1.1, and levels bought above 10 before 1.3 count in full again.
- Enhancing costs twice as much: each level now costs 50 x (n² - n + 2) training points (level 1: 100, level 5: 1,100, level 10: 4,600).
=== FIXES ===
- Fixed a crash when opening your inventory on a server running a different VowForge version (the vow effects weren't on the server, and the effect display crashed on them).
- Network version bumped: a client and server on different VowForge versions are now refused at login with a clear message instead of joining and crashing. Update the server and every player to 1.4.0 together.
