Void Star adds one ore, found only in the End, and rewrites what a beacon does with the payment you hand it.
Vanilla accepts five metals and gems, does exactly the same thing with all of them, and then forgets which one it was. Void Star remembers: the beacon keeps what it was given, and it glows in that payment's colour, core cube and beam alike. Iron is grey, gold yellow, emerald green, diamond cyan, netherite dark. The sixth payment is not a metal.
THE ORE
Void Star Ore grows only in end stone, between layer 0 and layer 90, and it does not glow. It generates as single blocks, never in veins, and half of what would have been exposed to open air is discarded at generation time, so it cannot be spotted from a boat or from the edge of an island. It has to be dug for, with a diamond pickaxe.
THE STAR
The ore drops a Void Star: fire resistant, stacks to sixteen, no crafting recipe. It has exactly one use. Put it in a beacon and the beam runs through the seven bands of the spectrum on a loop, and the beacon underneath does the same.
A beacon holding a Void Star gives every beacon effect in the game, at once, to everyone in the dimension. No pyramid tier to reach, no blue circle on the ground to stay inside, no ninety-second countdown following you home.
THE PRICE
Break the beacon and it all stops the same tick. Swap the star for an ingot and it stops too. Take the payment back and the beacon switches off. The charge is saved with the world, so it survives logging out and restarting the server, and the boost is per dimension: a beacon charged in the End does not light up players in the Overworld.

VERSIONS
Minecraft 1.20.1, 1.21.1 and 26.2, on Fabric, NeoForge and Forge. The Fabric builds need Fabric API; the others have no extra dependency. A Forge build for 26.2 is not available yet.
On 1.20.1 and 1.21.1 the beacon screen does not show the void star in its row of accepted payments; that part is drawn against a renderer only 26.2 has. Everything else behaves identically on every build.
