Description
Void Pocket
Void Pocket is a simple, compact, and lightweight Pocket Dimension mod for Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge.
The mod adds a portable pocket dimension that can be accessed through a special bag. Inside, you get a small floating island surrounded by the Void, which can be expanded as you need more space.
The main idea is to provide a practical and portable place for things you don't necessarily want taking up space in your main world. You can use it for farms, furnaces, storage, machines, or other useful setups while keeping your main base focused on exploration and decoration.
The Pocket Dimension keeps its initial chunks permanently loaded, and any area expanded from the original island is also kept loaded. This allows farms, furnaces, hoppers, and other compatible mechanics to continue processing even while you are far away, exploring the Overworld or other dimensions.
The mod is intentionally designed to be straightforward and accessible. Instead of requiring an extremely complicated progression or an expensive recipe, the Pocket Dimension can be obtained early in the game, making it useful throughout your entire playthrough.

Compatibility
The mod was developed and tested for Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge.
Compatibility with other mods is not guaranteed, especially for mechanics that depend on specific implementations of chunk loading, ticking, or automation. However, Waystones has been tested and works alongside the Pocket Dimension, allowing you to travel to and from the dimension independently of the bag.
The Pocket Dimension itself is intentionally simple: no additional progression system, complicated internal mechanics, or unnecessary features. The goal is to give you a compact, expandable, and practical space that you can take with you wherever you go.
If you want a simple Pocket Dimension for your farms, machines, storage, and other useful setups without turning your world into a giant technical area, this mod was made for you.
Multiplayer
Theoretically, Void Pocket should work in multiplayer, but this has not been fully tested yet.
The Pocket Dimension is currently shared between players. Each player does not have their own separate Pocket Dimension or island.
If you use Void Pocket in multiplayer, please keep this limitation in mind and report any issues you encounter.
Known Issues
First Entry / Initial Generation
During the first entry into the Pocket Dimension, the player may occasionally spawn partially or completely inside the ground. This can happen while the dimension is being generated for the first time.
This issue only affects the initial generation. Simply exit the Pocket Dimension and enter it again after the first generation. The spawn position should then be corrected, and subsequent entries should work normally.
This is a known issue in version 1.0.0 and is planned to be addressed in a future update.
Curiosities
Nether Portals
Nether Portals cannot be activated inside the Pocket Dimension. Even if you build a complete Nether Portal frame and attempt to light it, the portal will not open.
This means you cannot create a permanent, portable Nether Portal inside the Pocket Dimension to use as an alternative way of traveling between dimensions.
Using the Void Pocket in Other Dimensions
The Void Pocket can be used while you are in the Nether and potentially in the End as well. However, you cannot build a functional Nether Portal inside the Pocket Dimension, and End Portals cannot normally be built in Survival.
(If an End Portal is created in Creative mode, it can be accessed from the Pocket Dimension.)
Sleeping in the Pocket Dimension
Sleeping is possible inside the Pocket Dimension, but it does not advance the time of day.
The player can use a bed normally and the sleeping animation will occur, but the time will not progress to morning. To advance the time of day, you must sleep in the Overworld.
This is an intentional behavior of the Pocket Dimension and is not currently planned to be changed.
Important Note: Death and Respawn
Be careful when setting your spawn point inside the Pocket Dimension.
If you die and lose your entire inventory while your spawn point is set inside the Pocket Dimension, you may become stranded there if you have no other way to leave the dimension.
Since the Pocket Dimension is surrounded by the Void, there may be no resources available to craft another way out.
If this happens, one possible way to return to the Overworld is to break the bed that set your spawn point and fall into the Void, allowing you to respawn at your previous valid spawn point.
Make sure you have a way to leave the Pocket Dimension before setting your spawn there.
Fall Damage Reset
The Void Pocket can be used to escape a deadly fall. When you use it while falling, your fall distance is reset when you arrive in the Pocket Dimension.
Important: You should place a water source at the Pocket Dimension's spawn point beforehand. Otherwise, you may simply teleport into the Pocket Dimension while still falling and die from the new fall.
With water prepared at the spawn point, you can use the Pocket Bag shortly before hitting the ground, land safely in the water, recover your health, and prepare yourself before returning to the Overworld.
This can be especially useful when falling from extreme heights with no other way to prevent the fall damage.
