What's new
Changelog
All notable changes in Void Island Control Remastered versus Bartz24's 1.5.3 line. Original VIC behavior that was not changed is not listed.
Remaster (1.5.4)
Build / runtime
- Target Forge 1.12.2-14.23.5.2864 (Log4j patched).
- Ported the Gradle project from ForgeGradle 2.3 to ForgeGradle 3 (
userdev3), mappingsstable_39/39-1.12, Java 8, wrapper 4.9. - Updated MCP names that broke on the new mappings (
getPath/getNamespace,getChunk, localWorldTypelookup). - Garden of Glass / Botania compiles through FG3
fg.deobf.
Visit and spectate
/island visit <player>is a visible body on that island (tour), not a ghost.- Normal players: adventure.
- Operators: survival.
- Visitors with harvest or place permission: survival so vanilla will allow those actions.
- New
/island spectate <player>— spectator / invisible cam (ops included). - Visit and spectate work while the target player is offline, as long as VIC has their island UUID and the name can be resolved.
- You still cannot visit or spectate your own island.
List
- New
/island list— player names that have an island you can visit or spectate (not yourself). - Tab complete on visit / spectate uses that same name list, not only players who are online.
Visit permissions (walk-only by default)
Global commandSettings.visitSettings flags, all default false:
allowBlockInteractallowItemUseallowEntityInteractallowAttackallowPickupallowBlockHarvestallowBlockPlaceallowPerPlayerOverrides(aka the whitelist)
Until a pack dev or an island owner turns flags on, a visitor can walk and talk only.
Per-player whitelist
- New
/island permission <player> <flag> <true/false>. - Owner-only. Applies to that owner's island, keyed by visitor UUID.
- The target does not have to have visited first.
- Same player can have different flags on different islands.
- Disabled unless
allowPerPlayerOverridesis true. - Stored in the VIC world save on the island record.
Island lockdown
- New
islandLockdown(default false) andislandLockdownRange(default 500). - When enabled, non-ops who wander too far from their island (or the island they are visiting) are pulled back and shown the old “too far” message.
- Operators are not leashed.
- Separate from existing spawn /
protectionBuildRangebuild protection.
Docs and license
- Added
README.md,DESCRIPTION.md, andLICENSE.md(GPLv3). - Attribution to Bartz24 and the original CurseForge project.
- Notes on copying a world: island UUIDs live in the world save; names live in server-root
usercache.json/usernamecache.json.
