Description
Vitalwane — Hardcore Survival Overhaul
Vitalwane adds five interconnected survival systems to Minecraft 1.20.1 — Stamina, Temperature, Thirst, Fatigue, and Sanity — plus a full Wound & Infection system. Every action costs something, and the environment is always pushing back.
Core Systems
Stamina — Running, jumping, climbing, and swinging tools drain stamina. Shield blocking drains it too. Stand still to recover; run out and you can't sprint or jump.
Temperature — Freeze in cold biomes, overheat in deserts and the Nether. Wear leather for warmth, gold for heat. Hold a torch to stay warm. Wind chill and humidity make cold worse.
Thirst — You need water, not just food. High heat and movement drain it faster. Drink water bottles, or craft a Hot Water Bottle that hydrates and warms you.
Fatigue — Slowly drains over time. Rest standing or crouching to recover. Get too tired and you'll mine slower, move slower, and your screen will flicker.
Sanity — Darkness, heights, and nearby monsters erode it. Light, villagers, and armor help. Lose too much and you'll start hearing things — fake mob sounds, screen warping, and flashes of darkness.
Wounds & Infection
Getting hurt isn't just about hearts. Different attacks cause different wounds — bites, pierces, burns, poison, and more. Wounds bleed and can become infected if left untreated. Craft bandages, disinfectant, herbal ointment, splints, and antidotes to patch yourself up. Fall far enough and you'll fracture a bone, disabling sprint and jump until you apply a splint.
Interface
Press V to open your vitals window — see your stats, track wounds on your body, and check what treatment each one needs. All medical items have tooltips explaining how to use them.
Config
Fully configurable via JSON — toggle any system, adjust global difficulty (0.5×–2.0×), tweak cast speeds, and more. Custom effects can't be cleared by milk.
Supports Fabric and Forge 1.20.1.
Vitalwane — make every breath worth taking.
