Village Tale brings Minecraft villages to life with villagers who wake up hungry, work until their tools break, fall in love, grieve their losses, and raise children who learn through play. Inspired by TekTopia, this mod creates a living settlement where emergent stories unfold from the intersection of work, family, and community. Build a village and watch as its stories write themselves—no more lifeless NPCs standing at workstations!
This mod is in early alpha. All features are subject to change and iteration.
Build a Town Hall, craft a Ledger, and start recruiting vanilla villagers into your settlement. Assign them to professions—farmers tend crops, cooks prepare meals, carpenters craft tools. They pull materials from shared storage and contribute what they produce back to the village.
Your villagers aren't machines. They wake up hungry, eat breakfast, work through the day, and take evening breaks to socialize before bed. Teach crafters new recipes and watch them produce what your village needs, as long as they have the materials and aren't too hungry to work.
