Villager Homelands

This Mod is an Alpha Minecraft mod focused on making villagers and villages feel more connected to the biome they come from. It adds biome-themed villager type support and custom village generation, starting with Cherry villages and expanding over time toward more biome-based village identities.

Alpha Notice

This is an Alpha release.

That means the mod is still early, and parts of the project may change as testing continues. Village generation, structure spacing, balancing, loot, compatibility and biome behavior may be adjusted in future updates.

For testing, it is strongly recommended to use a new world or back up your existing world before installing the mod. Existing worlds may require newly generated chunks before new villages can appear.

Feedback, bug reports, screenshots, seeds, coordinates, logs and mod lists are very welcome.

What This Project Does

This Mod is built around the idea that villages should feel like they belong to their biome.

Instead of every village feeling mostly the same, but different block variants, this project aims to give each biome a stronger homeland identity through villager types, village styles, structures, blocks, loot and future biome-specific settlement design.

The goal is not just to add new villagers, but to make villages feel more connected to the place they come from.

At the moment, Cherry villages are the main custom village style implemented. Other biome village styles are planned, but not all are fully implemented yet.

Texture Notice

This Alpha focuses mainly on villager type logic and village generation. Custom textures for every new villager type are not fully bundled or wired yet, so some appearances may depend on vanilla textures or external resource packs.

If you want styled villager visuals, use a compatible resource pack that supports villager type textures. One example is Melody's Cute Girl Villagers. Please follow that resource pack's own installation requirements and credit/license terms.

Compatibility

This Mod is designed as one part of a larger villager-focused pack, but it can also be used separately. The full intended ecosystem is:

Villager AI Enhancement for safer movement, panic handling, route correction, and villager navigation improvements.
Minecraft Villager Identity Mod for personality, culture, trust, dialogue, gifts, and social behavior.
Minecraft Villager HomeLands Mod for biome villager types, village generation, biome-themed structures, and homeland identity.

These mods are meant to work well together as a pack, but they are being built so players and modpacks can choose which parts they want to use. Villager HomeLands focuses only on villager types and village generation, while the companion mods handle behavior and identity systems.

What This Project Does Not Do

Villager Homelands Mod does not add advanced villager personality systems by itself.

This project does not directly add:

villager trust
dialogue
gifts
family memory
home memory
personality behavior
panic safety
stuck recovery
route correction
villager combat

It also does not currently replace every vanilla village style unless that biome village has been specifically implemented.

Villager Homelands Mod is recommended for players and modpacks that want:

more village variety

Known Limitations

Because this is an Alpha release:

village generation balance may change
structure variety is still being expanded
some villages may require newly generated chunks
compatibility with large world generation mods needs more testing
spacing, loot, structure pools, and village layout may be adjusted
textures for all custom villager appearances are not fully bundled or wired yet

When reporting bugs, please include the seed, coordinates, logs, screenshots if possible and your full mod list.
