Variante 1.5.0 for MC 1.21.9
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
Added
- Legacy substitute tooltips: when a block is not available in your target version, its tooltip now suggests the closest era-legal look-alike (e.g. Cherry Planks → "use instead: Birch Planks"). 217 hand-curated mappings covering modern wood sets, deepslate, blackstone, tuff, copper, concrete, glazed terracotta, and the 1.14 job blocks.
- Version profiles: save named presets like
1.8 PvP=1.8.8in the settings screen (or the config file) and cycle through them with a new keybind. Cycling applies the version, enables the filter, and shows the active profile in the action bar. /variante scan [radius]: lists every unavailable block type around you with counts and the nearest position of each. Click a line to teleport there. Default radius is your highlight radius./variante validate <file>: checks a schematic from<gameDir>/schematics/against your target version before you build it. Supports.litematic,.schem(Sponge v2/v3) and.nbtstructure files, with no Litematica or WorldEdit required. Lists illegal blocks with the version they were added in and a substitute suggestion when known.- Creative search
@versionsyntax: type@1.16in the search tab to see only blocks/items introduced in the 1.16 series (@1.16.2for that exact patch). Combines with normal text search, e.g.@1.17 slab.
Performance
- World highlight is much cheaper: the block scan is now time-budgeted (~1.5 ms per frame) instead of scanning up to a million block states in a single frame: no more stutter on rescans or while flying. Chunk sections whose palette contains no unavailable block are skipped entirely, and outline edges are grouped into 16³ cells that are frustum-culled, so looking away from highlighted areas costs almost nothing. The radius slider's old "may cause frame drops" caveat no longer applies.
- Caves are no longer outlined on pre-1.13 targets (
cave_airand other invisible technical blocks are excluded from the highlight and scan).
Fixed (block & item versions)
- Signs: oak sign and oak wall sign were listed as 1.14, but they exist since the beginning (renamed from
signin 1.14). Now 1.8. - Whole-update gaps: all 79 Village & Pillage blocks (barrel, campfire, lantern, scaffolding…) were listed as 1.14.4 instead of 1.14, all 83 Nether Update blocks (crimson/warped, blackstone, basalt…) as 1.16.1 instead of 1.16, and the bee blocks as 1.15.2 instead of 1.15. Picking the base version of those updates now shows their content.
- Experimental leaks: the 55 Tricky Trials blocks (crafter, tuff variants, copper bulbs/doors/grates, trial spawner, vault, heavy core) were dated by their experimental registration (1.20.3/1.20.5) and are now correctly 1.21. The Pale Garden set moved from 1.21.3 to 1.21.4.
- Flattening renames: cobweb, wall torch, attached melon/pumpkin stems, petrified oak slab, and all potted pre-1.13 plants back-dated to 1.8. Smooth stone slab is now 1.8 (it's the classic stone slab) while the modern stone slab/stairs are 1.14. Carved pumpkin is 1.8 and the faceless pumpkin is 1.13. The pre-1.12 bed is now correctly the red one (was white).
iron_chain(renamed fromchainin 1.21.9) is now 1.16. - Dead corals moved from 1.13.2 to 1.13.1; piglin brute spawn egg to 1.16.2; breeze/bogged spawn eggs and the Tricky Trials music discs to 1.21; creaking spawn egg and pale oak boats to 1.21.4.
- Removed
minecraft:concrete/minecraft:concrete_powderghost entries (those flat IDs never existed).
