Valkyrien Skies uses a custom physics library called Krunch. This library is compiled from C++ to a native binary. It's compiled for most major platforms, arm x64 etc. However it's not compiled for Android arm specifically (which is annoyingly different from Linux arm).
Basically, the physics library Valkyrien Skies normally includes doesn't work on Android. It crashes on world load.
There have been workarounds in the past, namely running a server using a terminal emulator like termux to run Valkyrien Skies in an environment with the right libraries for Linux arm. But this solution was finicky and difficult to setup.
This mod intercepts the request for Krunch (and PhysX) from Valkyrien Skies and instead gives it a custom compiled version of Krunch (and PhysX) that works on Android
Yes, Krunch is closed source. I was given special access to it by Triode for the purposes of compiling this Android version.
Yes. While Krunch is All Rights Reserved, Triode did give me specific permission to redistribute this custom build of it.

Yes. Because I don't actually know C++ very well, I used Claude to get Krunch to build for Android. Although its changes were relatively simple, they were not done by me, and I want to be transparent about that.
Yes, hopefully. I'm working on making this patch officially included for Valkyrien Skies, possibly for the big 2.5 update.
I've tested Zalith and Pojav launcher, both should work.
No
