What's new

v1.2.0 - Vanilla creative tabs stay first (configurable)

Follow-up to v1.1.0: the alphabetical creative tab sort introduced there now lets you choose what happens to the vanilla tabs. Built for Minecraft 1.21.1 / NeoForge 21.1.249 (Java 21).

⚙️ New config key

creative.vanillaTabsFirst true true: the ten vanilla tabs stay at the front of the tab bar in NeoForge's own order (the vanilla one) and only the mod tabs are sorted alphabetically. false: every tab, vanilla ones included, is sorted alphabetically together.

Notes

  • Only used when creative.sortTabsAlphabetically is enabled (default)
  • Vanilla tabs are recognised by the minecraft namespace of their registry id, so the split does not depend on how many mods are installed nor on whether a mod declared withTabsBefore / withTabsAfter edges
  • Live-editable: /una config set creative.vanillaTabsFirst false, or edit config/utility_nexus/admin/config.toml and reopen the creative inventory
  • Client side only, same as the sort itself

Notes

No change to the datapack loader, the chunk pregenerator, the /una command tree or any existing config key — this release only adds one new boolean on top of v1.1.0. Verified: ./gradlew clean build is green.
