Useful Metals is a lightweight mod for Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge, adding tin, silver, and lead ores alongside steel, bronze, and related metal materials.
I created this mod for my own modpacks. I enjoy playing with Create and Tinkers’ Construct 3, but I prefer not to add a large traditional tech mod just to get a few extra metals. Vanilla’s selection felt a little limited, so I made a small mod that provides the materials I needed while leaving room for pack creators to define their uses.

Features
- Tin, silver, and lead ores, including deepslate variants and raw materials.
- Metal ingots, nuggets, plates, and storage blocks.
- Steel, bronze, carbon powder, and a Steel Rapier.
- Individual configuration options to enable or disable tin, silver, and lead ore generation.
- Common
c:tags for easier recipe integration across mods.
Configurable Steel Rapier
The Steel Rapier offers configurable combat attributes:
- Attack damage
- Attack speed
- Maximum durability
- Armor penetration ratio
Armor penetration reduces a configurable portion of the target’s armor damage reduction. It does not bypass every form of protection: enchantment protection, Resistance, and absorption still apply.
These settings are controlled by the server and synchronized to connected clients.
Create Integration
Built-in Create recipes provide:
- Steel and bronze production through mixing
- Metal plate production through pressing
- Carbon powder production through milling and crushing

Create is optional. However, steel and bronze production currently only have built-in Create recipes. Without Create, pack creators can add their own recipes using data packs or other recipe tools.
I may also provide a separate data pack with vanilla crafting recipes in the future.
Built for Modpacks
Useful Metals provides materials and configurable ore generation for you to build upon. Disable overlapping ores, connect recipes through common tags, and shape the processing routes to fit your pack.
Common tags help with cross-mod integration, but do not guarantee dedicated compatibility with every mod. The original Tinkers' Construct 3 already includes built-in compatibility for these materials.

Requires Minecraft 1.21.1 and NeoForge.
