What's new

UPGRADING! 1.2.0

Disks now have a second layer of customization (Z-Slots), a new look, and six new disks for a new total of 31 disks.

Added

Z-Slots

  • A new socket system under each of your three equipped disk slots.
  • A Z-Slot is crafted by stacking a frame, a chip and a board vertically in a crafting table.
  • Equip one by holding it and clicking a socket in the Disk Menu.
  • 12 frames (efficiency): fabric, wooden, copper, iron, golden, amethyst, cactus, glass, rose gold, sponge, mushroom, void.
    • Some frames have special rules (cactus trades efficiency from the other slots, glass gains from empty slots, rose gold stacks across slots, sponge scales with the disk's level, mushroom is stronger on lower rarities).
  • 8 chips (trigger): basic, heart, diamond, spade, club, food, portal, dark.
    • Triggers on heal, on kill, on dealing damage, on your own death, on eating, and on changing dimension.
  • 6 boards (effect): basic, ender, enchanted, piston, wool, corrupted.
    • Heal 2 HP, give 10 XP, push your disks along the slots, or send a disk back to your spawn point.
  • A chip only fires when a disk is equipped in that slot. Board effects can never trigger chips, and are not boosted by frame efficiency.
  • A special Mythic Z-Slot with its own name and description (void frame, corrupted board, dark chip).
  • Z-Slots now show a short, color-coded description in their tooltip: a shift hint, green and red percent values, and the board and chip on one line.
  • Equipped Z-Slots drop on death, unless keepInventory is on.
  • New 32x32 layer textures for frames, boards and chips, rendered over the slot in the Disk Menu.

Efficiency

  • The frame of a Z-Slot now changes the numbers of the disk in that slot: beneficial values are multiplied, cooldowns and penalties are divided.
  • The Disk Menu shows the original value crossed out in dark gray, with the boosted value in green next to it. This only shows for equipped disks with a non-default efficiency.
  • Efficiency was added to the new disks wherever it made sense.

New disks (not sure

  • Weathervane (Rare): bonus damage that grows with the disk's level, and bonus sprint speed. At level 12, rain counts, and in a thunderstorm your hits can call lightning.
  • Block O' Enchanting (Rare): a chance for broken blocks to drop XP orbs. At level 12, XP-dropping blocks give double.
  • Phantom (Epic): sneak at night to turn invisible, faster at higher levels. At level 12 it is instant and mobs lose track of you.
  • Brewmaster (Epic): potions you brew can gain extra effects, up to 4 in total. At level 12, potions you drink last longer.
  • Undertaker (Legendary): keep a few random items when you die. At level 12 you also keep a random equipped disk.
  • Transmitter (Legendary): nearby enemies share a part of the damage you take. At level 12 you also take less damage. Tamed and allied mobs are never hit.
  • Each of them comes with its own advancement, loot table entries, and English and French translations.

Disk Menu

  • A 3D disk model for all disk items.
  • Platinum overlays on Legendary and Mythic disk cards in the menu.
  • A fragment cost for the last upgrade (level 11 to 12), shown directly in the menu: 1 / 3 / 7 / 15 / 32 Encrypted Fragments by rarity.
  • A message when you do not have enough fragments.

Controls

  • New keybinds to activate the Mythic disk in each slot (default Z, X and C on a QWERTY layout).
  • New Disk Menu key.
  • All of them are rebindable in Controls, under "UPGRADING! Mod".

Languages

  • English and French, with new keys for all new content.
  • Z-Slot parts have short descriptions in both languages.

Changed

  • Warchemist has been reworked to be more defensive and less overpowered
  • The level 12 upgrade now costs Encrypted Fragments on top of XP.
  • Disk descriptions now show boosted values inline instead of plain numbers.
  • The Disk Menu layout was updated to fit the new sockets.
  • Disk items now use the new 3D model.

Fixed

  • Traveling in another dimension should not hide all your unlocked disks anymore
  • A LOT of minor fixes and optimization changes

Notes for players

  • Existing worlds keep their disks and levels
