What's new

2.1.0 - Visual Overhaul

Note: from now on we are not releasing new version numbers. 2.1.0 will be updated in place with fixes and improvements. If you downloaded it earlier, re-download it to get the latest build.

Visual effects (rebuilt)

  • New effect system for refined gear. Colours come from each item's own texture, detected automatically, so it works with items from other mods without manual lists.
  • Neutral items (iron, silver) glow white; dark items (netherite) get an intense version of their own hue.
  • Armor: moving sheen of light, soft glow that swells with the sheen cycle, sparks and electric arcs that wind around the body at high levels.
  • Weapons: travelling shine on the blade, sparks that detach and fade quickly, small arcs along the edge.
  • Tools: a calmer, fainter version of the weapon effect.
  • Enchanted gear: the item's own colours are intensified, plus floating glyphs from the Standard Galactic Alphabet.
  • Higher refinement level means a stronger effect; +9 is the strongest.
  • Electric arcs redesigned: angular, branching and more aggressive.
  • First-person view is much calmer and has no particles, and inventory miniatures are very faint.

Fusion Table

  • "Fusion complete" and failure messages now use darker colours that read well on the light panel.

Compatibility

  • Armor from other mods that use standard humanoid models now shows the effect in third person.
  • Known limitation: armor and weapons drawn with GeckoLib (for example Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks) do not show the shine. Weapons of that kind still show particles, and everything works in the Fusion Table.

Fixes

  • Fixed thin glow layers that looked like blurry translucent shells when the camera was close; they now fade out near the camera.
  • Fixed the missing-texture checkerboard on armors whose texture could not be found.
