Description
Update suppression
- Stack overflow suppression: neighbor updates run recursively and immediately, with no depth limit.
- CCE suppression: a comparator reading a shulker box whose block entity is not a container throws a
ClassCastException. - Trapdoor update skipping: redstone wire ignores the trapdoor check when it looks for connections.
- Entity ID suppression: entity IDs are handed out without the newer safety checks.
Related glitches
- Block entity swap: a block entity can stay in a block it doesn't belong to. This is what makes the shulker CCE setup possible.
- Furnace XP behavior: restores the old furnace XP behavior. It only matters together with Block Entity Swap.
- Floating redstone on trapdoors: comparators, repeaters and redstone dust no longer break when the trapdoor they sit on is opened.
- Item shadowing (1.17 and 1.18 styles): restores both variants of item shadowing in inventory clicks.
Good to know
- This mod only restores the behavior. If a suppression fires during a game tick instead of in response to a player action, the game or server can crash. A separate crash-prevention mod is not included, and I haven't tested one together with this mod.
- Don't install it together with AntiShadowPatch. Both apply the same changes and will conflict.
- These techniques change how blocks and items are saved. Back up your worlds first, or use a separate test world.
- Use it only where these techniques are allowed. Many public servers forbid them.
