Universal Totem

Universal Totem is a lightweight Fabric mod that gives every item in Minecraft the power to save your life.

If you receive fatal damage while holding an item, that item will activate like a Totem of Undying, preventing death and applying the same revival effects.

Instead of requiring a rare totem, any item in your hand can become your last chance to survive.

How It Works

When a player takes fatal damage:

The mod checks the item in the player's hand.
If the hand is not empty, the item activates as a Totem of Undying.
The player is revived with totem effects.
One item is consumed from the stack.
The used item appears in the totem activation animation.

Totem Priority

If the player has a real Totem of Undying:

The vanilla totem activates first
The Universal Totem mechanic only activates if no real totem is present

Example

Holding a Diamond Block while falling into lava:

The Diamond Block is consumed
The player is revived
The totem animation displays the Diamond Block
