What's new

1.0.0 — Initial release

Added

  • Three remotes: Basic, Advanced and Ultimate, each with a bigger battery and a harder recipe.
  • Bind a remote to any block, vanilla or modded, then right-click in the air to open its GUI from any distance.
  • Cross-dimension use with the Advanced and Ultimate remotes.
  • Binding confirmation, with two modes in the config:
    • SCREEN: a centered window shows the block with Confirm / Cancel buttons.
    • CLICK: shift + right-click selects the block, shift + left-click confirms it within a time window.
  • Forge Energy (RF/FE) support. The remotes can be charged by any mod, and have no built-in charger.
  • Energy use has two parts: a one-time cost to open (grows with distance) and a drain every tick while the GUI is open. The GUI closes when the remote runs out of energy.
  • A remote with its GUI open is locked in place: it can’t be moved, thrown or stored in the container it opened.
  • 12 craftable components (circuit, antenna, energy cell and casing for each tier), all made from vanilla ingredients.
  • Config file universalremote-common.toml with: binding mode, confirmation time, block blacklist, dimension blacklist (both accept modid:*) and an option to load unloaded chunks.
  • Creative tab with empty and fully charged remotes.
  • 32x32 textures, with the remote’s screen and LED showing whether it’s bound.
  • English and Brazilian Portuguese translations.

Notes

  • Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge 47.x. Install on both server and clients.
  • An energy mod is required to charge the remotes.
  • Some modded blocks with their own distance or dimension checks may behave differently. Please report them with the mod name and the log.
