UMC Identity Bird Animation Fix
A small client-side compatibility addon that restores wing animations for six Alex's Mobs birds when the player transforms using Identity. It updates only Identity's rendered bird, not ordinary world mobs.
Supported birds
- Hummingbird
- Bald Eagle
- Blue Jay
- Crow
- Toucan
- Shoebill
Hummingbirds retain their hovering animation. The other five birds use a flying pose while airborne and fold their wings on the ground, in water or while riding. Jumping and falling also use the airborne pose.
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.19.2 and Forge 43.x (built against Forge 43.5.0)
- Identity 2.6.1-1.19.1, Forge edition
- Alex's Mobs 1.21.1 (this is the mod version, not the Minecraft version)
- Citadel, as required by Alex's Mobs; built with Citadel 2.1.4-1.19
Installation
Place the addon JAR in your client profile's mods folder alongside the required mods. All viewers need the addon on their own client to see the corrected animations. No server installation or world reset is required.
When upgrading from UMC Identity Hummingbird Fix 0.1.0, remove the old addon JAR first. Install only one version: the internal mod ID remains umc_identity_hummingbird_fix.
Scope and limitations
This addon does not grant flight, change flight speed, unlock transformations or alter AI, physics or gameplay balance. Existing Identity animation updaters are preserved. Identity menu previews and special attack/fishing animations are not covered.
Version 0.2.0 passes 86 automated checks using the installed models' animation bytecode with rendering test doubles. This is not a full Forge-client startup or an in-game visual/multiplayer test. Please test all supported birds in third person, including landing and viewing another transformed player.
Original UMC addon, released under the MIT License. No Identity, Alex's Mobs or Citadel classes or assets are bundled. This is an independent compatibility project, not an official release from those mods' authors.
