What's new
Shader packs (needs Angelica)
- Choosing a shader pack has a screen of its own here now. Iris ships one and it did not survive the trip into this pack: opened over a world it left the world showing through where the list should have been, opened from the title screen it left a dark rectangle there, and in both cases the packs themselves were not on it. The switches around the hole were drawn; the list, which is the entire point of the screen, was not.
- The pack's own settings are drawn as ordinary rows of this interface — the toggles, the
cycles, the pages a pack groups its options into, and the profile picker. All of it is
the pack author's: their order, their names, their descriptions, read out of
shaders.propertiesand their language files rather than invented here. - Descriptions are wrapped rather than cut. A pack's description is where it says what an option costs, and a sentence with its end missing is worse than no sentence.
- Nothing is applied until Apply. A reload rebuilds the whole pipeline, so clicking through five packs to read their names is not five recompiles — what is waiting is said in the corner of the screen, and Cancel drops it.
- Drag a pack onto the window to add it. Angelica is what opens that channel, so this is the same drag-and-drop its own screen offers.
- The backdrop is the sky without the black hole. A pack is judged by how light behaves, and the brightest thing on screen should not be something the pack has no say over. Opened in a world, the world stays visible behind the panel.
Waila
- A list of blocks Waila says nothing about at all. The tooltip earns its place over a
machine and earns nothing over the ground: crossing a hillside spends the whole
crossing with a box in the corner naming the stone underfoot, and it is never once
read. Vanilla terrain out of the box, a switch on the Other tab, and the list itself in
uky.cfgundermods.wailaHiddenBlocks— one registry name a line, with an optional metadata value to name a single variant.
Xaero's Minimap
- The frame around the map is drawn in this mod's language: the gold rail down its left edge, the corners picked out as brackets, and one tick cut with the same lean the achievement panel is. A ring for a map set to round. Only the frame — the map, the entities, the waypoints and the coordinates under it are Xaero's and are untouched.
- Xaero's own frame is switched off through its own setting rather than by cutting its
drawing out, so it is visible in their settings screen rather than being a mystery, and
the value it had is put back the moment
mods.restyleXaeroFrameis turned off.
Mod settings
- Config lists can be edited in the game. A list used to be a row that said "list" and did nothing when clicked — here and in every other mod's settings drawn through this screen — so the answer to "stop naming stone" or "add another link under the menu" was to leave the game, find a file and come back. Click a row to edit it, the arrows to move it, the bin to take it out, Add for a new one, and Restore defaults to start over.
Quest book (needs BetterQuesting)
- A completed quest announced itself as
betterquesting.notice.complete— the lang key rather than the sentence — whenever the quest book's own translation could not be reached. It now falls back to the game's own table, and then to this mod's wording, so a raw key can no longer reach the screen.
Menus
- Switching a settings tab, unfolding one of the renderer's sections, or changing a tab or filter on the achievements list no longer replays every row's arrival. The header stayed put while everything under it faded out and slid back in one row at a time, which reads as the text flickering rather than as the panel animating. The entrance belongs to a screen arriving, and only to that.
The backdrop
- A comet crosses it every forty seconds or so: a head with a halo and a tail a third of the screen long, four to six seconds to cross. The backdrop is otherwise a still image that moves — the stars drift, the disk turns, and nothing in it ever happens.
- One star, high on the left, twinkles on its own. Put the pointer on it and it flares
and grows a ring; click it and a comet leaves from exactly that point. Both are off
together in
uky.cfgundereffects.comets.
The mod's own icon
- The artwork is in the jar now, so the mod list and the launchers show it instead of a
generic cube. Forge's own list reads a mod's
pack.pngand the launchers read the path inmcmod.info; neither had a file to read, which is why there was nothing to see.
