What's new

Changes

  • Reaching a starter goal now tells you what to do next. Gathering the three clay ingredients confirms it and then points you at the Tatara Clay and the furnace it builds — before, the hint simply stopped and left you holding everything you needed with nothing saying what it was for.
  • Furnace prompts show their steps in order. The Tatara Furnace takes its charcoal first and refuses satetsu until that's done, so the prompt now reads as a sequence rather than a shopping list.
  • A curing furnace asks for charcoal on its own. The flint and steel appears once the charcoal is in, rather than sitting alongside it — one furnace, one material, one thing to do.
  • The Tongs icon has gone back to the previous drawing [WIP].

Fixes

  • The furnace said nothing when it refused satetsu. Feeding it before the charcoal was full did nothing at all — no sound, no message — which was indistinguishable from a broken block. It now tells you which one it wants.
  • Taking a finished blade off the anvil bare-handed did nothing, silently. That's the last step of the whole chain, and the worst place to get stuck. It now tells you to use the Tongs.
  • Hammering a finished blade sounded like progress. The anvil played its working sound whether or not the strike did anything, so there was no way to tell you were done.
  • Reaching 8 satetsu, dying, and picking your own drops back up announced the goal a second time. Starter progress now survives death.
  • Tatara Clay made at a crafting grid didn't count. The starter hint kept asking for clay you'd already made, until you next picked something up off the ground.
  • "Off hand" is now "offhand" in tooltips and prompts.
