💬 Twitch Chat Bridge
Bring Twitch chat directly into Minecraft with badges, animated emotes, replies, channel-point redemptions, Shared Chat support, and more.
Twitch Chat Bridge is a client-side Fabric mod that mixes messages from one or more Twitch channels into normal Minecraft chat. It is designed to feel like a natural part of the game while still preserving Twitch features such as badges, emotes, username colors, replies, events, and channel identity.

Moderation Updates
Choose what happens when Twitch deletes a message, times out a user, or clears chat:
| Mode | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Remove | Removes the affected Twitch message from Minecraft chat |
| Cross out | Keeps the message visible but marks and strikes it out |
| Leave alone | Ignores the Twitch moderation update |
Minecraft and server messages are never modified by this feature.

Animated GIFs
-
7TV, BTTV, and FFZ provider data
Animated assets are processed using a minimum-priority background worker. GIF frames are combined into compact texture atlases instead of creating a separate GPU texture for every frame.
Performance controls include:

GIF frame-rate limit
-
Pause animations while Minecraft chat is closed
-
Simultaneous image-download limit
-
Completed-image upload limit
-
Enable or disable the disk cache

🔐 Twitch Login Setup
Twitch requires chat applications to identify themselves with a Client ID.
You only need a Client ID. Never enter a Client Secret into Minecraft.
-
Open the Twitch Developer Console.
-
Register a new application.
-
Set the application/client type to Public.
-
Use
http://localhostfor the redirect URL. -
Copy the application’s Client ID.
-
Start Minecraft and run
/tc config. -
Paste the Client ID and select Connect Twitch.
-
Approve the requested permissions in your browser.
-
Add any additional channels from the Channels menu.
The mod uses Twitch’s Device Code login flow, so you do not need to paste an OAuth token manually.
Automatic Token Refresh
Access and refresh tokens are stored locally in:
config/twitch-chat-bridge.json
The mod automatically:
-
Refreshes the access token before it expires
-
Saves the new access token
-
Saves rotated refresh tokens
-
Retries temporary refresh failures
-
Asks you to reconnect if authorization is permanently lost
Your Client Secret is never requested or stored.
🌐 Multiple Channels and Shared Chat
You can add multiple Twitch channels and independently configure each one.
Every channel supports:
-
Enable or disable
-
Mute
-
Custom prefix
-
Custom prefix color
-
Avatar toggle
-
Badge toggle
-
Emote and GIF toggle
-
Outgoing-channel selection
When Twitch Shared Chat provides source-channel information, the mod uses it to display the correct:
-
Channel profile picture
-
Channel badges
-
Channel-specific emotes
-
Channel identity
Mirrored Shared Chat messages are automatically deduplicated when possible.

config/twitch-chat-bridge-cache
Settings can also be exported and imported through the configuration screen. OAuth access and refresh tokens are deliberately excluded from exported settings.
⚠️ Twitch GIF Support
Twitch does not currently provide a consistently documented GIF fragment format through its public EventSub chat documentation.
The mod searches unknown message fragments for supported media URLs and displays the GIF when Twitch supplies one. If Twitch does not include a usable media URL, the text supplied by Twitch is displayed instead.
