What is TUMAT:
TUMAT stands for „Tell me more about this“ and is a in-world tool tip mod, like WAILA or TheOneProbe. One big different is that TUMAT is designed to get the most performance, that means it has no fancy graphics to visualize the blocks, so the CPU power can be used by other mods.
What does TUMAT show:
TUMAT can show blocks, tile entities (sometimes with special information), entities, fluids (source and flowing), but also items that are dropped into the world.
It can display harvest ability, light level, redstone strength and more. The most features are disabled by default, but can be easily enabled without restarting the game, inside the mod config screen. It showes the mod name in the in-world tool tip and the inventory.
TUMAT has default integrated the ability to see energy (Tesla, EU and ForgeUnits) and the fluids inside of tanks.
One special feature is that it can show the slot numbers of inventories (with ctrl), what is a good way to use the ESDs from Actually Additions or similar blocks
Yes, you are allowed to use this mod inside of modpacks, without asking for permissions.

is there a significant improvement in performance with this mod compared to hwyla? i have a severe TPS issue and anything that improves performance is welcome

This mod is build to reduce FPS issues. In general the "Ingame Tooltip mods", like hwyla or the one probe don't drain tps by a lot

You can find it in the in-game config screen. There are a lot more things too, i don't know how it is called right now.
Can you implement a feature (like waila) that makes constant requests for new information about the block being focused on? Certain blocks (like the cache from thermal foundation) only update their info if you update the block. (by locking it or moving it)

It should update block information everytime you look at it. I activly decided against constant updates, because this would create a higher network and cpu usage, which this mod tries to avaid as good as possible.

All of the rest are good things to add, but could you tell me if you have some examples which compatabilities to other mods you're missing (your last point)?
Newest version has put Common before every block, I see no way to disable this in the config, any reason why?
