Treasure enchantments (such as Mending and Frost Walker) are a really cool concept, since they are unique, special, and add more of an incentive to explore and obtain them in other ways than just using an enchanting table. But I've always thought that they're not much of a treasure if you can just easily obtain an endless supply of them from villagers, let alone for the price of a single emerald, are they?
On top of that, I've always disliked how useless the wandering traders are, and so I came up with a better idea.
This mod is the result of that. It aims to improve on both of those problems by removing all treasure enchantments from villager trading, and instead adds them as rare trades from the wandering trader.
The mod is fully compatible with treasure enchantments from other mods, and includes a config to customize virtually all of its functionality. For wandering traders, it includes options for changing the book prices, max number of trades, whether they should also sell curse enchantments, and adding exceptions that won't be sold. And for villagers, you can add exceptions that won't be removed from them!
Is forge 1.19.2 already considered? I really like this solution as a rebalancing option against massive villager farms and would love to add it to my mod packs.

Yes, and I should be able to release that version within the next couple days or so :)
I will let you know when it's out if you'd like!
In reply to In3ffa:
Yes tysm that would be great! <3
In reply to Knac_Knac:
It's out now <3
In reply to In3ffa:
Nice! Thanks again for being so quick to respond.
is it possible in the config not to remove any of the enchantment from villager but to add it all in the wondering trader?
In reply to OfficialGamingNerdLeith:
Yes! Under the villager settings, there's an option to disable the part that removes treasure enchantments from villagers. If you set it to false, they won't be removed from villagers at all, and wandering traders will still sell them. I added the option in both the fabric and forge versions
Forge 1.18.2?
In reply to mezkino_:
There is a version for that already, it works in both 1.18.1 and 1.18.2
In reply to In3ffa:
I would advise marking the Forge releases as Betas, then they'll show up beneath the Fabric releases on the files tab on the main page! It's hacky, but that's CurseForge for you. Awesome mod btw!
In reply to Nekomaster1000:
Thank you! That's good advice, but I think I would rather not incorrectly mark my files/releases just because of CurseForge being bad, or because some people don't bother to check for the ones they want. I guess I will keep it in mind though.
can i also move non-treasure enchantment to wander trades?
Love this mod! It's a really good idea that solves two problems at once. Recently I've started using the Ferium mod manager, and it isn't able to install this mod - when I try, it outputs "The developer of this mod has denied third party applications from downloading it". Is there a specific reason you've done so? It's pretty easy to add it to my pack and keep it updated manually, though, so it's not really any trouble if you've got a reason for having it set up like this.
In reply to floral_qua_floral:
Thank you! Yes, that is intentional. The main reason why I've done that, simply put, is because allowing third party services to distribute a mod means that it doesn't count towards the mod's downloads or the rewards program for the developer when it is downloaded that way.
Sorry if it causes you any hassle, I can see why that could be a bit annoying to deal with.
In reply to In3ffa:
Ah, I wasn't aware it worked like that. Thanks for explaining! 😁
Hi! I have a question does ""removeTreasureEnchantments": true" in villager section in config will remove all treasure enchantments from villager's trading even the modded treasure enchantments and will modded treasure enchantments will be traded by wandering traders? If not how can I do that?
Would it be possible to also (configurably) remove the treasure-enchanted books and items you get from fishing?
Hello there! I've been working on a modpack that improves villagers and illagers for 1.16.5 and was wondering if I can use your mod. I'll be sure to provide credit and a link to the pack when it's done if you want.
In reply to a_random_something:
Sure, go for it :)
My 1.18.1 server is throwing an error after using it, and I don't know what happened
