True Darkness Compat is a Forge 1.20.1 compatibility bridge that makes Grondag's True Darkness mod work correctly with shader packs running under Iris / Oculus.

True Darkness darkens nights and caves by modifying the vanilla lightmap, but shader packs ignore that texture and recompute lighting themselves — so installing both at once normally produces fully-lit nights with shaders enabled. TDC fixes this for supported shaders.

Also normalizes held-item light values from modded items so a glowing modded item behaves like a vanilla torch instead of out-ranging the pack's falloff math.

The compatible packs are BSL 8.4, Complementary Reimagined & Unbound 5.7.1, Photon 1.3b, Sildur's Vibrant Shaders 1.5.1lite
