TreeChopper 1.0.0 - Forge 1.19.2-1.20 (legacy)
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
1.0.0
Legacy build for Minecraft 1.19.2 to 1.20 on Forge. Kept available for those versions. Superseded by 2.0.2 on Minecraft 26.1 and 26.2.
Behavior in this build
- Breaking a log fells the connected tree, leaves included
- Any tool works, including bare hands
- No configuration file, no limit on how many blocks one break removes
Known defects
These are present in this build and are not going to be fixed here. All of them are fixed in 2.0.2, which covers Minecraft 26.1 and 26.2 only.
- Felling walks the tree recursively with no upper bound. Where canopies touch, the walk can reach thousands of blocks and end in a stack overflow that stops the game
- A single break can clear a large part of a forest, since nothing bounds how far the walk spreads
- No tool check, so a log broken with bare hands fells the tree
- The block broken by the player is removed twice, once by the mod and once by vanilla, which can double its drop
For Minecraft 26.1 and later
Use 2.0.2. It requires an axe, bounds the blocks removed per break through the maxBlocks config value, and is available for Forge, NeoForge and Fabric.
This mod has no additional files
