The Minecraft 1.21.1 / NeoForge API on Minecraft 1.12.2 (Forge): a library for ports of modern mods to 1.12.2.
A ported mod keeps its 1.21 code and data (registries, data components, codecs, recipes, tags and conditions in the 1.21 JSON formats, menus, network payloads, capabilities, data driven enchantments, block shapes, rendering) and the Translator runs them on 1.12.2.
- The 1.21 vanilla ids are translated to 1.12.2 ids and metadata (
minecraft:white_woolis wool 0). - Recipe results that 1.12.2 doesn't have get something similar where it has one (tuff gives andesite); recipes that need content 1.12.2 has nothing like are left out.
- The 1.21 common tags (
c:ingots/iron, ...) work together with the ore dictionary. - The 1.21 crafting recipes show in JEI.
Copper: the Translator's only content is copper (ingot and ore, with ore generation), which 1.12.2 doesn't have
and modern recipes use. When another mod adds copper (ingotCopper), the Translator turns its own copper off and uses
that mod's.
On its own the Translator does nothing: install it for the mods that need it.
Used by
Made with AI: this library was made entirely with AI (Claude), from the code to the in-game testing.
Beta: back up your worlds before adding the mods that use it.
