Training Dummy
A stationary, fully-equippable combat training dummy for testing your gear and weapons.
Features
- Craftable spawner: combine an Armor Stand and a Hay Block to craft the Training Dummy item, then place it anywhere.
- Damage readout: every hit shows the damage you dealt, as a running total or DPS, in chat or as a HUD overlay on screen. Fully configurable — position, color, how long it stays visible, and how quickly a new streak starts — and large numbers are formatted with thousands separators for readability.
- Configurable health: set a global default max health for every dummy, or override it per dummy right from its own inventory screen — anywhere from 1 HP to absurdly tanky.
- Quick-access settings: toggle between Total/DPS and Chat/Screen display directly from buttons in the dummy's inventory — no need to dig through a config file mid-session.
- Full gear: right-click with a Stick to open the dummy's inventory — helmet, chestplate, leggings, boots, shield/offhand, main hand, and (if Curios API is installed) accessory slots, complete with vanilla-style icons and hover tooltips. Works with any mod that hooks into Curios, including Artifacts and Relics.
- Wears real skins: rename the dummy with a Name Tag, and it fetches and wears that Minecraft account's actual skin (including slim/wide arm support).
- Lure Bait: craft this TNT-shaped item (any food item + Bone Meal) and place it in the dummy's main hand to make nearby hostile mobs notice and attack it — pull the bait back out and they let go. Naturally passive/neutral mobs (wolves, foxes, bees) are never affected.
- Armor works properly: equipped armor and a raised shield actually reduce incoming damage, same as on a player.
- Only removable on purpose: hit it with a Stick to break it (drops all its gear, plus a spawner item for itself); nothing else can destroy it.
Configuration
Everything above is adjustable in-game (including per-dummy health), or via the Configured mod for the global config file.
Requirements
- NeoForge 26.1.2
- Curios API (optional — enables the accessory slots and Artifacts/Relics compatibility)
