Ever tried to learn Minecraft combat or a difficult modpack but got frustrated because you kept dying before you could even learn anything valuable? Well a friend of mine has been there one too many times so I came up with a solution: Totem of Undying adds a creative-only item that prevents a player's health from ever hitting 0.

You can still participate in combat, learn how to deal with mobs, climb on high trees and cliffs, but as long as this totem is in your inventory, it will be impossible for you to die! No matter if it's in your hand, your off-hand, your hotbar, or somewhere in your other inventory, as long as it's there you will always be left with at least half a heart when taking damage. The totem will never disappear or lose durability.

Why? Because a dear friend of mine wanted to play relaxed and without risk while learning the game, while the rest of our friend group wanted to play a challenging mod pack. This way, we can all play together on the same server. Since the holder of the item can still take damage, it enables the person to practice combat and learn to survive without the risk of actually dying.

So if you have a beginner or a younger sibling or child that you'd like to teach Minecraft to, this might be the mod for you! Just let them have the Totem of Immortality somewhere in their inventory and off you go!
