WARNING: NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR BANS FROM SEVERS!
Very much a WIP, I have a few plans but wanted to get this out there to see what the interest was like. Will also be backported to 1.16.5 & 1.17.1 once I figure out everything I want to do with it. Please use the Issues tracker for broken interactions and other support issues.
Right click with any tool to use the "place" action with the next slot in your hotbar. Items will also chain right clicks across the hotbar! So if you have multiple tools in a line you can still accesses the blocks at the end of the tool chain!
This mod is mostly client side! Basic right clicking with tools currently works in any server if the mod is on the server or not.
How it works:
[1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] <-- Hotbar slots
[9] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] <-- What slot is affected by the right click.
I remade this mod because Tinkers Construct removed the off hand in the new 3.0 version (Just happens that this is 3.0 for us too!) for the "Big" tools and required an upgrade for it. Funny that the original idea for this mod came from Tinkers Construct and here we are full circle some 8 years latter (at the time of writing, first commit was August 1 2014) remaking the mod to bring back this feature because of Tinkers. The last update for this mod was ~6 years ago (2,295 days to be exact at the time of writing) all because of this tiny change. It's somewhat surreal to me that this is all happening so many years later, If you recognize this mod, hope life has treated you well. Also Thanks Dries for making this all those years ago. ~ Clay
Old 1.7.10 description, frozen in time forever, Typos and all.
Right click with any tool to use the "place" action with the next slot in your hotbar.
Except on the first slot, there the last slot is used. (Read further down for more information
You MUST have D3 Core to use our mods! <-- Click to get!
What it do?
Place Blocks/Torches with any tool that does not have a right click! (Sorry Hoes and Swords!)
New things it adds!
Right click with a tool and a block next to it to find out! (Or read below :P)
The way this mod works is quite simple if you know how Tinkers Construct works. If not heres a summary!
[1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] <-- Hotbar slots
[9] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] <-- What slot is affected by the right click.
Something borked?

Thanks Tinkers Construct for the idea!
Are there any plans for a fabric version?
In reply to DirdiDan:
No.
This mod is not compatible with botania, you cant rotate mana spreader with this mod installed.
What are you using to rotate it? Its currently in two packs that I maintain that both have botania and never had a single user complain about botania interactions.
Any chance to make this configurable? My hotbar has, and will remain unchanged for near 6 years. This mod currently suffocates me with cobble...
This will not be happening. It is far too complicated to tell the server every persons setup so it syncs properly.
Noted. Should be simple enough :p
I also would like some better control.
I always put my torches in 9, and my tools in 1-5 (sword, bow, pick, axe, shovel). While the idea of "plop down torches while you are working" is nice, it only works if you have a torch next to your tool.
Now, what if an item does not have a "place" function, but does have a left-click function? For example, instead of right-click to place a torch, what if it were right click to activate the shovel? Pick in the stone, shovel in the dirt, without having to change tool, just button.
This mod could explode with possibilities with a small config file. Just make it a simple right click action for whatever "torch" slot instead of explicitly placing a torch and allow ppl to map one slot to another, or render it nil to avoid wackiness. Like:
slot1 = slot7
slot2 = slot2
etc... So right clicking when using slot1 performs a right click action for whatever item is in slot 7 and slot2 does a normal right click and so on. Anyways, just an idea, mods great on its own as well.
