The nether fortress, rebuilt as a real fortress.
Better Nether Fortresses replaces every nether fortress with a huge walled citadel over the lava: a keep with a throne room, two floors of rooms, a prison and a treasure vault under the courtyard, and arched bridges on tall piers out to gate towers and corner bastions. More spawners, more chests and far more to explore, in every fortress.

Features
- A walled citadel with gatehouses, buttresses, battlements and four corner turrets, around a courtyard with fire braziers.
- The keep: a four floor tower with a throne room, a library with an enchanting table, an armory, a lookout and a blaze spawner on its roof.
- Two floors of rooms, different in every fortress: forges with lava and blast furnaces, nether wart gardens, libraries, barracks, armories, shrines with a respawn anchor, banquet halls and storerooms.
- The prison and the vault: stairs from the courtyard go down to cells behind iron bars and to the treasure vault, guarded by two wither skeleton spawners.
- Arched bridges on piers that go all the way down to the ground, with lantern posts and lanterns hanging under the arches.
- Gate towers and corner bastions joined by a ring of bridges, with blaze platforms halfway along the main bridges.
- Many more spawners (blazes, wither skeletons, magma cubes, skeletons) and about 40 to 50 chests with their own loot tables: forge, garden, library, barracks, keep and vault. Better than vanilla, with diamonds, horse armor, saddles, enchanted books and, very rarely, netherite scrap, a netherite upgrade template or Pigstep.
- Nether wart in every fortress, and blaze rods to farm, like in vanilla.
- Same places as vanilla:
/locateand existing seeds still work, and blazes and wither skeletons still spawn in the fortress. A fortress with a bastion or another fortress close by is built a bit smaller, so they do not run into each other.

FAQ
Do players need it? No. It is server-side: install it (and the lib) on the server or in single player, and vanilla clients can join.
Does it work in an existing world? Yes, in the parts of the Nether that are not generated yet. Fortresses already generated stay as they are.
Does it add blocks or items? No, only vanilla blocks: it works with any resource pack and can be removed safely.
