TNT: Reforged
TNT: Reforged is a Forge mod that adds a huge collection of powerful, fun and chaotic TNT blocks to Minecraft.
The goal of this mod is not just to add “bigger TNT”. Each TNT has its own behavior, visual style, crafting recipe, animation and special effect.

Some TNT Examples
Nuke TNT
A massive destructive TNT that creates a huge explosion and leaves a large crater behind.
Black Hole TNT
Pulls nearby entities inward and finishes with a strong implosion.
Tsunami TNT
Creates huge temporary water waves that spread outward. The water is cleaned up afterward, so it does not permanently flood your world.
Tornado TNT
Spawns a large tornado event that pulls entities, items and players into the air, spins them around, and ends with a powerful final blast.
Laser TNT
Fires large red laser beams in four directions, cutting through blocks and damaging anything in the way.
Acid TNT
Creates a corrosive area that melts blocks, damages entities and leaves acid-like particles behind.
Crystal TNT
Explodes with an amethyst-style shard burst and deals extra shard damage around the blast.
Supernova TNT
A legendary cosmic TNT that creates a huge bright energy explosion with an afterglow field.
Reality Breaker TNT
A chaotic legendary TNT that creates reality rupture pulses, teleport jitter and a final shockwave.
Event-Based TNTs
Some TNTs do not just explode once. They create short events that continue for a few seconds.
- Tornado TNT creates a tornado event.
- Tsunami TNT creates temporary water waves.
- Storm God TNT creates a local lightning storm.
- Chrono Rift TNT creates time-rift pulses.
- Dragon Breath TNT leaves a lingering magical cloud.
- Hellfire TNT creates a dark Nether fire zone.
- Frost Nova TNT creates a large freezing nova field.
These TNTs are made to feel more like special events instead of normal explosions.
Survival Support
TNT: Reforged is not only made for creative mode testing.
Every TNT has a crafting recipe and recipe book unlock support.
Stronger TNTs usually require more expensive materials, while simpler utility TNTs are easier to craft earlier in survival.
Players Are Affected Too
Special TNT effects also work on survival and adventure players.
- Tornado TNT can pull and throw you around.
- Tsunami TNT can push you with its wave.
- Laser TNT can damage you if you stand in the beam.
- Gravity and Black Hole TNT can pull you in.
- Repulsion TNT can launch you away.
- Reality Breaker TNT can distort and displace nearby entities.
Creative and spectator players are protected by default.
Custom Visual FX
The mod includes its own custom visual FX system for primed TNTs.
This means some TNTs use custom particles instead of only relying on vanilla Minecraft particles.
Examples of custom FX include:
- Supernova flares
- Singularity sparks
- Chrono rift particles
- Reality shards
- Hellfire embers
- Frost crystals
- Portal runes
- Storm arcs
- Plasma arcs
- Slime splashes
- Sand grains
- Magnetic sparks
These effects make the TNTs feel more alive while they are ignited.
Placed TNT Glow
Placed TNT blocks can also have a subtle glow / pulse effect.
This can be turned on or off from the config menu.
If you want a cleaner vanilla-like look, you can disable it.
If you want the TNTs to feel more alive, you can keep it enabled.
Config Options
The mod includes many config options, including:
- TNT behavior values
- Player affect settings
- Placed TNT glow settings
- Advanced primed FX settings
- Particle density
- Render distance
- Max animated TNT limit
- Special TNT effect limits
This helps keep the mod fun while still giving control over performance and gameplay intensity.
Performance and Safety
Many TNTs in this mod are very powerful, but the mod uses caps and queue systems to keep large explosions more controlled.
Temporary effects are also cleaned up when needed.
- Tsunami water is temporary and gets cleaned up.
- Temporary slime blocks are removed after a short time.
- Event TNTs stop after their duration ends.
- Particles and animations have performance limits.
- Large block destruction uses safer capped processing.
Installation
- Install Minecraft Forge 1.20.1.
- Put the mod jar file into your
mods folder.
- Launch the game with the Forge profile.
- Open the TNT: Reforged creative tab and start testing.
Small Note
This mod is made for players who enjoy big explosions, strange effects and chaotic Minecraft experiments.
Some TNTs mine. Some burn. Some freeze. Some pull everything into the air. Some break reality.
More TNT. Bigger chaos. Better explosions.
