Tiny Sounds - Ambient Additions is a new type of ambience mod designed to make your world feel more alive and immersive.
Instead of using long ambience tracks, this mod adds 150+ short new sound effects that play randomly depending on what biome and time of day you and location you are in.
This mod has been developed to serve as the high quality ambience & atmosphere toolkit for all my future projects, but can be perfectly integrated into any horror, realism, exploration modpack you make yourself.
You’re allowed to freely use this in any modpack you make.

New Sounds:
Plains:
The plains biome is home to a couple new sounds:
You may occasionally hear a Rooster in the morning, cow moos in the distance, Dog barks at night and the Church bell of a distant unseen village.
Inside Houses:
Standing inside of a house or wooden structure, you may hear the sound of its Wood Frame creaking.
Beaches / Oceans:
The marine biomes of Minecraft now have rare Whale noises and Ship horns that echo across the waves.
Forests:
You can now hear a variety of new sounds inside of forests:
From Woodpeckers, Snapping twigs, Baby deer, Wild boar grunts to terrifying Fox screams, Bear growls, Wolf howls and Pig squeals at night.
Taiga / Snowy Taiga:
The boreal forests have one of the largest pools of possible sounds that can play inside them, introducing dozens of Elk bugles, Deer stag roars, distant Avalanches, unstable Rockfalls, occasional rare Wood chopping or the Horn of a distant train.
Mountains:
Mountainous biomes have been given their own soundscape aswell:
You will hear Mountain goats, rare Hawk screeches and terrifying Mountain lion screams echoing between the peaks.
Warm Biomes:
You can also hear the Hawk screech when visiting some hot biomes.
Miscellaneous:
As long as you are inside the overworld, there is a low chance you’ll hear the sound of a Helicopter or Plane passing overhead.
All sounds are directional, play randomly on specific conditions (like the biome, time of day and whether you are inside).
Some sounds (such as ship horn, wood chopping, train horn, plane / helicopter overhead, avalanches, rockfalls) count as ultra-rare and will play much less often than other sounds.
Configurability:
I have included configurability to make this mod fit in with any playstyle or preference of sounds / their frequency.
Ship horns can be disabled inside the config by setting “enable_ship_sounds” to false (off by default).
Vehicle sounds (planes, trains, helicopters) can be disabled inside the config by setting “enable_vehicle_sounds” to false (off by default).
Civilisation sounds (village church bells) can be disabled inside the config by setting "enable_civilisation_sounds" to false (on by default).
The frequency of every sound in this mod can be adjusted to your preference by changing the number value of any “(sound name)_minimum_ticks” variable inside the config.
Every sound ticks down -1 tick off their minimum tick value every tick (there are 20 ticks in a second), until it reaches 0 and plays the sound, restarting the invisible timer.
The minimum tick value you prefer can easily be calculated
by multiplying the value of how often (every _ minutes) by 60 and then 20.
Example:
Every 1 minute means:
1 x 60 x 20 = 1200 ticks
Commands:
Every sound in this mod has a command for checking how long until it plays and skipping to when it should play.
Every command in this mod can be accessed under /tinysounds
Example:
/tinysounds_check_ticks_whale : checks how many ticks until a whale sound plays (if conditions are fulfilled), displays it on your screen
/tinysounds_skip_whale : skips the timer to when the whale sound should trigger
