# Tinkers Armor Compat
A Tinkers' Construct addon that lets you turn vanilla and modded armor into **Cores**, convert them into Tinkers' Construct armor, or merge them into finished Tinkers armor to add their stats on top.
## Requirements
- Minecraft 1.20.1 / Forge 47.x
- Tinkers' Construct 3.12+ (and Mantle)
- Optional: TiCEX (integrated when present)
## How to use
### 1. Make a Core
Place an armor piece on a Casting Table and pour 1000 mB of molten Stream of Reconstruction (the TiCEX fluid) over it. The armor becomes "Core of (armor name)".
The creative tab "Armor Cores" lists a Core for every registered armor piece.
### 2. Convert a Core into armor
Put a single Core in a crafting table to get armor for the same slot.
- Where TiCEX armor is usable, you get TiCEX armor; otherwise you get Tinkers plate armor.
- You can also put a single armor piece in a crafting table to convert it directly into plate armor.
- Enchantments and custom names are kept.
### 3. Merge a Core into finished Tinkers armor
Put a Tinkers armor piece and a Core for the same slot in a crafting table or the Tinker Station. The Core's original armor stats are added to the piece. Cores can be stacked.
## What carries over
The original armor's attribute modifiers are copied as they are:
- Armor, armor toughness, knockback resistance
- Attributes added by other mods (for example Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks mana regen and spell power)
A Core is tinted with the average color of the original armor's texture.
## Limitations
- Abilities driven by armor code (set bonuses, special on-wear effects) do not carry over. Only attribute-based stats do.
- Carried-over stats are added on top of the Tinkers armor's own stats.
- There is no per-armor fluid; one shared fluid is used.
- Some TiCEX armor needs compat mods that TiCEX asks for (such as ProjectE or Mekanism).
