Description

Tidal Observation Card

Tidal Observation Card is a gameplay mod for NeoForge 1.21.1 that adds a daily card-based reward system focused on observation, judgment, and resource management.

This mod does not work like a normal shop or a simple random reward box.
Instead, it introduces a two-step decision process:

  1. Pay a cost to observe a card
  2. Decide whether to claim the revealed reward or give it up

The main idea is simple:
players do not directly receive rewards.
They must first spend resources to reveal hidden offers, then decide whether those offers are worth paying for.

How It Works

Each refresh provides a daily set of 12 cards.

Every card starts hidden.
Before flipping a card, the player selects an observation level and pays the required observation cost.

After the card is revealed, the reward becomes visible.
The player can then make a second decision:

  • Claim the reward by paying a separate claim cost
  • Give up the revealed offer and save their remaining resources for other cards

A revealed card does not automatically grant items.
Seeing the reward and receiving the reward are two different steps.

Main Features

  • Daily refreshing card system
  • 12 cards per refresh
  • Multiple observation levels
  • Separate observation cost and claim cost
  • Hidden rewards that must be revealed first
  • Optional choice to claim or abandon
  • Configurable reward pools, costs, and values
  • Designed for survival, progression, and modpack balancing

Gameplay Purpose

The goal of this mod is not pure gambling.

It is designed around decision-making under limited resources.
Players must constantly judge value before spending what they have.

Typical questions during gameplay include:

  • Is this card worth revealing?
  • Is the revealed reward worth claiming?
  • Should resources be saved for a different card?
  • Is it better to take a safe option now or wait for a better offer later?

Because of this structure, the mod turns simple item rewards into a system of:

  • risk evaluation
  • value judgment
  • resource conversion
  • daily decision-making

Modpack Use

Tidal Observation Card is especially suitable for:

  • progression-based modpacks
  • survival gameplay
  • custom economies
  • resource-limited playstyles

Pack creators can adjust reward pools, prices, and progression value through configuration, making the system easier to integrate into different gameplay stages.

Design Goal

This mod is built to make daily gameplay more interactive and meaningful.

Instead of giving players fixed rewards or fully random outcomes, it creates a loop where information has value, resources have weight, and every choice carries opportunity cost.

The result is a daily system built around:

  • uncertainty
  • controlled risk
  • player choice
  • long-term judgment
