tickmender-1.2.0.jar
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
1.2.0 - 2026-10-08
One new switch, and the first that changes what the player sees: cameraShakeLimit. TickMender now
has 40 switches. The 39 of 1.1.0 are unchanged.
Screen shake (client)
cameraShakeLimit: the screen shake of other mods reaches the camera at a share of its strength (strength, default 0.5: half of what the mods intend), and all shakes of one frame together never turn the camera by more thanmaxDegrees(default 6), whatever a mod or a defect in a mod asks for. This is a wish of the pack's owner, not a repair: boss slams of L_Ender's Cataclysm made the picture unreadable. The real cause of that was a unit error in Sporran 1.0.4 (the roll of NeoForge's camera event, in degrees, applied as radians), which Sporran 1.0.5 repairs; this switch adds the half strength, for which Cataclysm has no setting, and the limit for whatever comes next.- It acts where a shake enters the camera: NeoForge's
ViewportEvent.ComputeCameraAnglesas Sporran posts it (in the pack: Cataclysm 3.33), Porting Lib's event of the same name (Twilight Forest 4.8.734, the growing beanstalk), and Eternal Starlight 0.9.1's own shake. It does not touch the camera itself, so Camera Overhaul's sway and smoothing, BetterThirdPerson's camera, the game's third person, hurt tilt and view bobbing are as before. - The two numbers are in a new file,
config/tickmender-camerashake.json."strength": 1.0gives the mods' own strength back and keeps the limit;"cameraShakeLimit": falseinconfig/tickmender.jsonswitches everything of it off. - With
strength1.0 and a shake within the limit, and in every frame without a shake, the angles are bit for bit what the mods left. - With a Sporran older than 1.0.5 the roll of the NeoForge event is dropped (one warning at game start): that Sporran would turn the picture 57 times too far by any roll that is let through.
- Camera Overhaul's own screen shake (explosions, lightning) is not part of this; its strength is
screenShakesMaxIntensityinconfig/cameraoverhaul.toml(default 2.5 degrees per axis, 1.25 for half), and it stays below the limit by construction. - On a dedicated server the switch is
idle (client only); on a client without any of the three shake sources it isidle (...)as well.
- It acts where a shake enters the camera: NeoForge's
Updating from 1.1.0
Replace the jar. The new switch is added to an existing config/tickmender.json with its default
(true); everything already in the file is kept. config/tickmender-camerashake.json is created
with strength 0.5 and maxDegrees 6.0 at the first start of a client that has one of the three
shake sources. Whoever wants screen shake as it was sets "cameraShakeLimit": false.
