Description

The only new material mod for 1.21.7.

Check out the addons! (Keep scrolling)

Have you ever searched for a mod that simply adds new materials—only to find ones packed with extra mechanics, flashy animated textures, or over-the-top tools like instant tree choppers and pickaxe-sword-shovel-hoes?

Yeah… this mod isn’t that.

If you're looking for high-tech gadgets and magical machines, this probably isn't the mod for you. But if you want a clean, vanilla-style expansion that fits naturally into Minecraft’s core gameplay, you’re in the right place. Keep reading.

This mod adds:

Cubic Zirconia

Y-levels: -48 to 140 (Overworld)
Description:
Cubic Zirconia is a hyper-durable synthetic gemstone found in veins spanning wide vertical ranges, often embedded in tough stone layers. Its exceptional durability means tools and armor crafted from it rarely break, making it the eco-conscious miner’s dream—no need to constantly replace your gear. However, despite its toughness, it’s only as effective as iron when it comes to harvesting power or protection.
Gameplay Role:
Ideal for long-term utility gear, such as backup armor or tools used for construction/mining where speed is less important than longevity.

Bronze

Crafted: Copper + Tin (Tin at Y-levels -16 to 48, Overworld)
Description:
An alloy of copper and tin, bronze represents humanity’s first true technological leap—and now it’s yours. Stronger than stone but not quite as powerful as iron, bronze fills the early-to-mid-game gear gap. It's a great transitional metal that rewards players who explore and experiment with alloying.
Gameplay Role:
Encourages early-game exploration and metalworking. Cheaper than iron, more rewarding than stone.

Rubidium

Y-levels: 20 to 56 (Nether)
Description:
Rubidium is a rare mid-to-late game metal known for its high efficiency and speed-focused tools. While it lacks the sheer durability of Netherite, Rubidium equipment excels at fast mining and lightweight combat. Tools made from Rubidium break more easily under pressure, but they make up for it with their blazing speed and snappy responsiveness.
Gameplay Role:
An offensive upgrade path. Faster mining speed and aggressive combat bonuses in exchange for lower durability than Netherite.

Starshard

Found only on the outer End islands
Description:
Forged in the birth of stars and scattered across the End’s outer islands, Starshard is a shimmering crystalline ore that pulses with cosmic energy. Tools and armor made from it are peerless, surpassing even Netherite in every aspect—unrivaled durability, speed, damage, and protection. But its power comes at a price: it can only be found in the most dangerous, remote parts of the End.
Gameplay Role:
The true endgame material. Rare, hard to obtain, but immensely powerful.

Please please PLEASE give me feedback! I likely haven't caught what is bugging you. I can fix it…

NOTE: I am constantly updating this mod so it isn't broken. If you are encountering an issue, please please PLEASE use the issue tracker, but also say what version of the mod you are using!

Art isn’t my strong suit, so if you’ve got a better take on any of the textures, go for it! I’d be excited to see your improvements.

This (^) is especially relevant for the rubidium block and ores, which…suck.

Addons:

Celestial Bronze – A mythical metal with divine origins, Celestial Bronze is a rare and powerful alloy known for its shimmering hue and formidable strength. Ideal for crafting advanced tools, weapons, and armor, it integrates seamlessly into the world without feeling overpowered. Whether you're battling hostile mobs or exploring ancient ruins, Celestial Bronze offers both function and flair, staying true to Minecraft’s vanilla spirit while adding a touch of mythological magic.

Visible Ores – Inspired by the Vanilla Tweaks aesthetic, Visible Ores enhances the clarity and visibility of ore blocks by subtly outlining them or adjusting their background textures. It doesn't change how ores function or look radically—just enough to make mining more intuitive and less frustrating, especially in low-light environments. This tweak preserves Minecraft’s core visual style while improving gameplay quality for resource gatherers.
