New Theatrical Extra Lights Beta!
Hello everyone!
The mod has grown a LOT lately, so I'm going to start releasing Beta versions with all the new features and improvements we've been working on.
⚠️ Important: this version may contain bugs, performance issues, crashes, or other unexpected behavior. I strongly recommend making a backup of your worlds before using this version.
There will also be a Wiki for the mod coming very soon, where you will be able to find information about the fixtures, DMX channels, and other features.
Huge thanks to Nailec for helping with the Wiki!

💡 LIGHTS
1. New Moving Heads with Gobos
Added 9 new moving heads with gobos, each with different patterns and numbers of gobos.
They now have new DMX modes:
- 10 Channels
- 19 Channels
- 29 Channels
2. Custom Gobos
The moving heads with gobos now support a Custom Gobo system.
You can add your own gobos by placing a .PNG file in:
Modpack/config/gobos
I recommend using an image with a black background and the gobo pattern in white.
3. New Strobe Modes
Strobes now have new DMX modes:
- 6 Channels
- 5 Channels
- 4 Channels
- 3 Channels
4. FollowSpot Console
Added a new FollowSpot Console that allows you to control FollowSpots and some Moving Heads.
----- BEAMS -----
Volumetric Beams
Added a new, more realistic beam system called Volumetric Beams, made using shaders.
For now, this system replaces most of the traditional beams used by Extra Lights.
⚠️ This system is significantly more demanding than the normal beam system.
⚠️ External shaders are currently not supported.
------ GOBOS ------
Added a new and improved gobo system.
Gobos should now cause much less lag, and they can also be projected onto the player and other surfaces.
This looks especially good when combined with Moving Heads with Gobos + Volumetric Beams.
----- CONFIGURATION MENU -----
Added a new configuration menu for Extra Lights.
You can open it by pressing O. The key can be changed in Minecraft's key bindings menu.
GENERAL
Volumetric Beam: Yes / No Enable or disable the new Volumetric Beam system.
Lens Glow: Yes / No Enable or disable the glow effect on some fixtures.
2D Beam: Yes / No Enable or disable 2D beams.
⚠️ 2D beams are currently not working properly.
Sliders
Brightness: Brightness of the Volumetric Beam.
Beam Range: Maximum distance of the Volumetric Beam. It is also limited by Theatrical's Max Beam Distance setting.
Fade Length: Distance used for the final beam fade.
Gobo Distance: Maximum rendering distance for gobos.
BEAM
Engine: Raymarch / Slices
Raymarch: Recommended and currently the default system.
Slices: The old Volumetric Beam system.
Quality: Low / Medium / High / Ultra
Controls the quality of the raymarching. Higher quality requires more system resources.
Sliders
Anisotropy: Controls how the beam looks at different points.
Haze: Controls the amount of haze in the environment.
Max Beams Per Frame: Maximum number of Volumetric Beams processed per frame.
Density: Beam density.
Max Alpha: Maximum beam alpha.
Slices: Number of slices used by the old Volumetric Beam system.
SPOT
Spot Follows Cone: Yes / No
Makes the spot size follow the cone angle and lit distance.
Slider
Max Spot Radius: Maximum radius of the spot.

⚠️ This feature is still experimental and may not work correctly with some fixtures.

It is based on a fixture used by Michael Jackson during the Dangerous Tour.
