Description
Salutations!
Welcome to The Word Is Whom mod!
We have a variety of features in this mod, including:
AIR: Solid blocks of air will randomly generate in the sky or (if you're lucky) on the ground. You can mine them with a pickaxe and craft them into sticks, air tools and weapons, or even carbon dioxide.
CARBON DIOXIDE: Crafted from Air and Carbon, this item can actually be eaten! (Be aware that it will both damage you and make you hungrier. Eat at your own risk.) Carbon dioxide can also be used to grow plants, the same way that bonemeal can. In addition, Carbon Dioxide can be used to craft the Debug Stick! (Be aware that the Debug Stick is completely useless if you are in Survival mode.)
BERYLLIUM: Beryllium Ore is a common sight underground. Due to its greenish color, it can be mistaken for Emerald Ore, but unlike Emerald Ore, Beryllium Ore can be found in any biome. When smelted, Beryllium Ore will turn into Beryls, and nine Beryls can create an Emerald! (Villager trades have been updated so that some Villagers will trade for Beryls rather than Emeralds. Also, note that an Emerald can be crafted back into nine Beryls.) Emeralds can also be turned into tools, weapons, and armor now!
BORON: Boron Ore can only be found between the y-coordinates of 20 and 50. When mined, Boron Ore will drop three Boron Crystals. Boron Crystals, when right-clicked on a block, will set it on fire. This will destroy whatever block is above it. (We do mean whatever block. The Boron Crystal can destroy chests, along with all the items inside. It can destroy obsidian, portal frame blocks, the Dragon Egg, reinforced deepslate, even bedrock.) A Boron Crystal can be crafted into two Boron Powder. The main use of Boron Powder is in purification. It can be used to turn lava, mud, milk, Bromine, Mercury, and Essence of Black Hole into water. (Because the original bucket will remain in the crafting grid, and a new bucket of water will be created, this is in fact an infinite bucket glitch. We decided to leave it in. How much harm can you really do with infinite buckets‽)
CARBON: Smelting Bones or Coal in a furnace will give you Carbon. Carbon, as the main ingredient of life, can be combined with various other materials to craft almost every kind of spawn egg! That's right, you can now spawn your own mobs in Survival mode without cheats! (This includes the Ender Dragon, the Wither, and the Warden. Exercise caution.) Carbon can also be used to craft Carbon Dioxide. When smelted in a furnace, Carbon will give you Diamond Fragments. Nine Diamond Fragments can be crafted into a Diamond!
FLUORINE: Various combinations of elements, fused together with Uranium Ingots, will give you Fluorine. As a toxic gas, Fluorine will give you Nausea if you hold it in your hand. Fluorine can be brewed into immensely dangerous potions. A Potion of Fluorine can kill any mob instantly (except the Ender Dragon and the Wither, who are immune to potion effects. It will kill the Warden, however!) The danger with Potions of Fluorine is that, unless you're careful, some of it may splash onto you. The best strategy, in our opinion, is to craft Arrows of Fluorine. (A note: You'll see that Potions of Fluorine actually give you Instant Health 7 right before they give you Instant Damage 13. This is to ensure the death of undead mobs, who will be healed by Instant Damage and damaged by Instant Health.)
COBALT: This common blue metal can be turned into cobalt tools, weapons, and armor. It can also be used to create a Cobalt Shield and Cobalt Shears. In most crafting recipes, Cobalt Ingots can be used in place of Iron Ingots. However, because Cobalt is slightly weaker than Iron, the crafting recipe will sometimes be altered. For example, a Flint and Steel made with Cobalt will also require Carbon. Another example: if Cobalt is used to craft Rails, you'll get half as many Rails as you would with Iron.
COBALT BIOME: The Cobalt Biome is a rare biome which is entirely blue. It boasts Cobalt Trees, which have Cobalt Leaves and Cobalt Logs, the latter of which can be crafted into Cobalt Planks. The ground is covered with a layer of Cobalt Blocks; beneath that is Cobalt Ore.
NICKEL: Nickel Ore can be found underground (look carefully, it looks a lot like Stone), and smelted into Nickels. A Nickel can also be crafted from five Pennies (one Copper Ingot will give you nine Pennies). Five Nickels can be crafted into a Quarter, and four Quarters will give you an Emerald.
ZINC: Zinc Ore, which also resembles Stone, is found deep within the earth. When mined, it drops two Zinc Dust. Zinc is an essential part of our diet, and as a result, Zinc Dust can be eaten! It restores 3 points on the saturation bar, and is one of the only Minecraft food sources found underground. (The only other ones I can think of are Glow Berries from Lush Caves and Rotten Flesh from zombies.)
BROMINE: Combine water, red dye (or redstone dust), and a uranium ingot to fuse the two together, and what do you get? Bromine! This red liquid isn't really that useful (it functions almost exactly like water), but it looks cool and can be used for decorative purposes.
SILVER: The elusive Silver Ore can be smelted into Silver Ingots, which have a few uses. A single Silver Ingot and a Stick can be used to craft a Silver Dagger, a powerful weapon which has both strength and speed. Using a Uranium Ingot to combine a Water Bucket and a Silver Ingot will give you a Mercury Bucket.
MERCURY: Also known as quicksilver, it's the only metal that is a liquid at room temperature. It's very fast-moving, and much like lava, mercury will damage mobs who enter it.
URANIUM: Found deep underground, Uranium Ore is very dangerous and will harm you if you walk on it. When mined, it drops Uranium Ingots. This radioactive metal does not stack, so it can be difficult to transport and can take up a lot of space in your inventory. When held in your hand, a Uranium Ingot will damage you while slowly losing durability, as it's so unstable. Uranium has a variety of purposes, mostly in fusing elements to create new ones.
DARKNESS: Darkness is a block with similar generation properties to Air, but found only in caves. Darkness, when placed in a bucket, gives you a Bucket of Black Hole. The fluid Essence of Black Hole is similar to water, but pulls mobs and items towards the source block instead of pushing them away. This can make for useful mob traps or transportation systems.
GHOULS: Ghouls are living suits of armor which spawn at night and attempt to attack any nearby players. They are armed with the sword that matches their armor set. They can be Leather Ghouls (armed with wooden swords), Cobalt Ghouls, Iron Ghouls, Golden Ghouls, Emerald Ghouls, or Diamond Ghouls. Iron and Golden Ghouls drop their respective nuggets. Emerald Ghouls drop Beryls, and Diamond Ghouls drop Diamond Fragments. Leather Ghouls drop Leather. Cobalt Ghouls generally drop nothing, unless their sword or a piece of their armor happens to drop.
WHOMSTONE: Whomstone is a mystical orange stone found in the Whom Badlands, the Nether, and the Whom Dimension. It has many uses in crafting and can also create a portal to the Whom Dimension.
WHOM BADLANDS: The Whom Badlands is a common biome. The ground is made of Whomstone. Acacia trees and skeletal structures made of Bone Blocks dot the landscape. Blazes, Husks, Rabbits, Ghouls, Exclamation Pointers, and Question Markers spawn here.
EXCLAMATION POINTERS AND QUESTION MARKERS: These humanoid figures have either an exclamation point or a question mark where their face should be. They are hostile, and when killed, they drop the punctuation mark that they represent. When an exclamation point and a question mark are combined, they create an Interrobang, the most powerful punctuation mark of all. An Interrobang, when used on a Nether-portal-shaped ring of Whomstone, creates a portal to the Whom Dimension.
THE WHOM DIMENSION: The Whom Dimension is another dimension. The ground is made of Whomstone, with lakes and oceans of Milk in between. (Milk is a fluid block with similar properties to water, distinct from the milk obtained from cows.) Mobs of all kinds spawn in this subterranean labyrinth.
STRUCTURES BIOME: This somewhat dead-looking biome reminiscent of a cross between a jungle and a mangrove swamp contains every kind of structure in the game! Everything from End Cities to Nether Fortresses, Ocean Monuments to Jungle Temples, will spawn in this biome. Every mob in the game has the potential to spawn here as well, including the Elder Guardian, the Ender Dragon, the Wither, and the Warden.
FLINT TOOLS: Flint can now be used to craft tools and weapons. Flint is a weak tier, close to stone in efficiency and durability.
DASH BLOCK: Crafted from Whomstone, Sugar, and Redstone Dust, the Dash Block allows you (and all other mobs who walk on it) to move at incredibly high speeds!
JUMP BLOCK: Crafted from Cobalt, a Rabbit's Foot, and Redstone Dust, the Jump Block gives you (and all other mobs who walk on it) incredible jumping abilities! In addition, you cannot take fall damage when landing on this block.
DASH/JUMP BLOCK: By combining Dash and Jump Blocks, and adding some Amethyst Shards, you can craft the Dash/Jump Block, combining the abilities of both blocks!
ELECTRIFYING: This new enchantment for swords, axes, and bows allows you to summon lightning, striking down any mob you attack! It will not turn Pigs into Zombified Piglins, Villagers into Witches, Creepers into Charged Creepers, or Skeleton Horses into Skeleton Horsemen. It will also not automatically cook animals.
CURSE OF STRIKING: This enchantment is much like Electrifying, but it is a curse. The lightning bolt summoned can damage you as well as your target if you're too close. It will also set fires. It will turn Pigs into Zombified Piglins, Villagers into Witches, Creepers into Charged Creepers, and Skeleton Horses into Skeleton Horsemen. Often, any drops will be destroyed in the subsequent fire.
LONG SWORD: The Long Sword is crafted from an Iron Sword, an Iron Ingot, and a Diamond. It appears longer than items usually do in your hand—although we are still working out some bugs there—and is a powerful weapon. There is a variant, the Longer Sword, which is longer and does more damage. Surround a Long Sword with five Iron Ingots and three Diamonds to get the Longer Sword.
WHOM BOW: Surrounding a Bow with Whomstone allows you to craft this magnificent weapon. The Whom Bow comes with the Infinity enchanment, shooting a limitless quantity of Spectral Arrows, and at incredibly high speeds! A variant is the Infinite Whom Bow, a version of the Whom Bow that never breaks, as the Whom Bow runs out of durability quickly. The Infinite Whom Bow is crafted from a Whom Bow surrounded by blocks of copper, iron gold, redstone, cobalt, amethyst, emerald, and diamond.
MAGIC ORE: Magic Ore spawns very rarely, and only at deepslate level. This enigmatic ore, when mined, drops one Magic Gem. When held in the hand, a Magic Gem instantly restores the player's health. The Magic Gem can be right-clicked on a block to cause an explosion, or it can be used as a weapon—it deals five hundred attack damage and will instantly kill any mob.
STAFF: The Staff is a multitool made from Sticks. It can mine, dig, and fight with speed and power similar to that of stone tools. When crafted with an Emerald, it creates an Emerald Staff. Emerald Staffs are more powerful and will summon lightning when used to attack a mob. When a Staff is crafted with a Magic Gem, it creates a Magic Staff, the most powerful weapon in the game. Magic Staffs can be used to attack and instantly kill any mob. They can also be used on blocks to instantly mine them. When you right-click with the Magic Staff in your hand, it creates a large explosion that propels you into the air, giving you a primitive form of flight. Holding the Magic Staff in your main hand also grants you Resistance, Fire Resistance, Absorption, Speed, and Jump Boost.
CONCENTRATED TORCH: Combining nine torches into one gives you the Concentrated Torch! This essential tool for spelunkers provides an infinite source of light. Wherever you walk with this item in your hand, invisible blocks of light will appear, keeping that particular area lit until the end of time!
BED WARS: By combining red dye, Boron Crystals, Amethyst Shards, Planks, and a Dash Block, players can obtain a red Bed Wars bed. Similarly, blue dye, Cobalt, Lapis Lazuli, Planks, and a Jump Block combine to make a blue Bed Wars bed. When one of these beds is held in your hand, the corresponding color of wool will continuously appear under you, no matter where you are. Build bridges and towers with ease! Fly above the world on a vast carpet of wool!
WIND WAND: The Wind Wand is a weapon of mass destruction and chaos, crafted by combining eight Air and a Stick. The Wind Wand shoots infinite Wind Charges, and never breaks. Be careful not to accidentally hit yourself!
FIRE WAND: The Fire Wand is similar to the Wind Wand, only it shoots Blaze fireballs. It can be upgraded into the Enhanced Fire Wand, which shoots Ghast fireballs. There are other variations as well: the Draconic Wand, which shoots Dragon Fireballs, and the Withered Wand, which shoots Wither Skulls.
There you have it, the endless capabilities of The Word Is Whom mod! More updates to come.
