The Sundering 0.1.2
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
IMPORTANT
- Everyone on a server must use 0.1.2: players on 0.1.1 can't join a 0.1.2 server.
- Your old worlds still work. What is already built stays as it is; only new land gets the new roads, towns and forts.
- Making a new world takes a little longer the first time, while the kingdoms around it are planned.
NEW: KINGDOMS, ROADS AND ARMIES
- Each villager kingdom now places its towns, border forts and villages on purpose (in forests and on hills too) and joins them with roads: paved near castles and towns, country roads, village paths.
- Bridges (wooden, stone, covered, with a gate tower), border posts with guards, signposts naming the places each way, lamp posts, rest stops, and milestones that tell you where you are.
- New troops in towns, castles and forts: soldiers, spearmen and bowmen. Iron and diamond spears can be crafted.
- Road patrols: a knight on horseback leads troops along the roads. At night they camp by the road (tents, bedrolls, a cooking pot over the fire, weapon racks, stakes) and pack up at dawn. In a forest they cut down trees to make room.
- When a kingdom's settlement is attacked by piglins or a dragon, an army of 12 marches to help and fights in formation: a line, a square when surrounded, a wedge against a boss, spread out against a dragon.
- New blocks: timber beams and braces, rope railings, plank decks, shingles, board siding, milestones, tents, bedrolls, cooking pots, weapon racks, stakes, three medieval torches with moving flames, a tower hatch that opens by itself, and a working portcullis with its gate winch.
- Monsters no longer spawn inside our towns and castles.
NEW: DRAGONS
- Wild fire dragons come in three looks and four colors.
- Dragon eggs: a fire dragon drops one when it dies. Keep it warm (lava, magma, fire or a campfire) for about a day and it hatches. Feed the baby meat and it grows in its sleep: baby, juvenile (follows you, flies, defends you), adolescent (put a Dragon Saddle on it and ride it), then adult.
- Riding: the mouse steers; spins and hard turns; fire breath, three fireballs that recharge, a dive that slams the ground. The adult can stop in the air to breathe fire or an inferno. After many kills it burns blue for two minutes and can throw a big or a small supernova.
- The wild dragon's fire reaches further and its fire runs fly higher and longer. It breaks through walls to reach you. Its fire burns villages, leaves ash clouds and charred remains, sends debris flying and trees falling, and makes the air shimmer with heat.
- The supernova: a 6-second charge, then a blast like a nuclear bomb: a crater, a mushroom cloud, a shockwave that knocks buildings down into rubble out to 160 blocks, lava bombs, and a blue firestorm with burning rain, fire waves and lightning. A wild dragon uses it at most every 5 minutes, and a smaller one near its own keep.
FIXES
- Knights no longer give up the chase, and their war horses are tougher.
- The Piglin Warlord holds his axe better, and his attacks flow without pauses.
- Dragons no longer freeze in the sky far away, flicker when lying down, or cut off their sounds.
- Ash and fog no longer follow you after you respawn far away.
- Guards no longer shake when you walk up to them, or spawn inside the ground or in water.
- Fixed roads cutting through castle walls, water running down roads, and most floating trees near roads and towns.
KNOWN ISSUES (they may still happen)
- Now and then a tree may still float next to a road or a town.
- A supernova can make the game stutter for a moment.
- With a shader pack on, the dragon's burning-air haze doesn't show.
- Animals in a village pen can sometimes get out.
- A ravine or a cave can cut under a village (vanilla villages have this too).
- Armies, patrols and camps are new: they may get stuck or act oddly.
- The dragons' damage against players in good armor is still being balanced.
Please report bugs in the comments. Thanks for playing!
