The Steel Mod adds in a steel ingot, a steel block, and most importantly a steel pickaxe. The pickaxe is in between gold and diamond. It combines the durability of iron with the speed of gold. With this it makes a great "mid-game" pickaxe, as it is not too expensive, and if you have my luck it can be made well before you acquire diamonds. The ingots are used to make the pickaxe, and the ingots can be made with 2 iron and 1 gold. In the real world steel is made with predominantly iron and carbon, and since there isn't carbon in minecraft I chose to sub in gold. The blocks are the equivalent to any other metal block, not much propose, use them for whatever you want! Again this mod is for fabric 1.16.5.
